Game Thread Ohio State v Northwestern B1G Championship, @ Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, IN 12/1/18 8PM, FOX

I don’t think Notre Dame or Oklahoma could beat Ohio State. In fact, I think there’s a good chance Ohio State dominates either of them. I don’t think it will matter since the committee has already set the field, though.
I think it would depend on which tOSU team showed up to be honest, we had flashes of brilliance this year and flashes of utter rubbish.

where did i claim they were? you said they didn't deserve to be there and that's a ridiculous take. that's a very good, disciplined football team with a fantastic coach that was within 3 points deep in the 3Q against (arguably) a top-4 team and you give them zero respect bc OSU ends up blowing them out? quite the leap

They deserve to be there by virtue of winning the division. But a team that weak shouldn't really be playing in a P5 conference title game. That goes for Pitt as well. You could argue that NW is ranked as the 4th best B1G team

lolol take off your fan glasses for second ffs

a team so weak that had everyone here shitting their pants when they pulled within a FG in the 3Q? a team so weak that was also within one score in the 2H against an undefeated team that DID get into the playoff? a team so weak they led the nation in penalty efficiency? a team so weak that had a harder schedule than your beloved buckeyes, who, might i add, lost by fucking 30 to a 6-6 team and gave up 26 pts/game to worse opposition? a team so weak that was "allowed" to be that close against top-5 teams because their opponents' head coaches "chose" to be passive? it's not like they're athletes that practice at all, right? only school that "deserves" to even be in the conference at all is OSU, right? they beat who they needed to beat when they needed to beat them and they deserved to be on the same field just as much as OSU. don't be ridiculous.

i hope you don't bet with that mentality. if so, thanks for moving lines in my favor

It's not Delaney's fault that the Big Ten champion got ass blasted by mediocre teams two years in a row.

no, but it is his fault the B1G champion has to go undefeated (and probably have no close wins along the way) to be allowed into ESPN's tournament.

He lost the battle and as a result 3 of the 5 years this tournament has existed, his flagship program has been the test case for an excuse to be left out.

They don't. Ohio State got in twice without being undefeated, once without winning their division. Michigan would have been in this year with one loss.

I'm not a fan of the current selection process, but it doesn't go any deeper here than Ohio State just having unforgivable loss margins to not good teams. If the games had been closer or they had been able to avenge either in Indianapolis then it would be a different conversation, but they weren't.

Being ranked below Georgia is bullshit, but I see no reason why they should be above any of the playoff teams.
