Game Thread Ohio State v Washington 2018 Rose Bowl Pasadena, CA 1/1/19 5pm on ESPN

I think the Bucks get a defensive or special teams score and handle the rest of the game better than our average this year on Defense. I see the score as 34-17.

I really think the UW Offense is a lot like Northwestern with their Defense being better because of the level of athletes they have. Thorson is a lot like Browning in my opinion and the production NU got from the RB position is also very similar. I would give the UW players a step in speed from NU but the Offenses are similar. Defensively we are going to see more man coverage and the WR's have to continue to make plays.

I'm looking for a DB coming out in this game similar to what Sheffield did last year. I think Coach Day will also be auditioning his coaching staff as well.

And why the hell does UW have 4 QBs named Jake/Jacob?!?!

No doubt in my mind their RB gashes the OSU defense for some good total yardage and a couple of long runs/TD's.

I don't know if it will be enough because even a very good defense that changes coverage, tackles well and keeps everything in front of them is still going to struggle to contain the OSU offense.

OSU high 30's to low 40's
UW high 20's (this defense can't keep anyone lower than that).

We arent keeping Washington under 35... Gaskins is a RB built to destroy our defense and like you said I think he will.

I think we win but IMO it wont be pretty. 49-45 kind of game I think.

Can someone please help me? I found the Ohio State Ticketmaster site with bleacher seats for still $180. We still haven't completely decided to go but I don't think I will have trouble selling 2 seats even at face value (right?) .Anyway....I have been trying to desperately figure this out because im terrified the Tix will be gone.

Anyway it says bleacher seats (understand that) end zone (got it). BUT....TBD9. Does that mean we would be somewhere in section 9? How are these still available? I only randomly found this. Otherwise I would just have bought $250+ resale Tix.

The main problem we are having is paying for the flight. Even though we have $100 vouchers.

I hope this is worth it if we go because I seriously bought my car for 2k. I have been REALLY thrifty but still we will be paying around $1500-1800 for Sat-Wed..... car, flight, game, lodging.

Have you looked at flying into San Diego instead of LA? When I've traveled for games, I've gone to a different city and then made the drive -- giving me more flexibility and better price on the airfare.

Yep....been looking at quite a few options. Thanks tho. Do you know anything about this ticket situation? Sorry to bother you guys. My husband basically mumbled something and said if you think you'd be happy with them if we got stuck with them then get them.

Do you think IF we were to not go, I could sell these to someone for $180 ea. Honestly we don't want to make a profit. But finding these is HUGE. I budgeted $500+ for tickets. So $360 would help make up for the flight (fares keep going up by the hour it seems).

BTW.... I almost want to fly into San Diego as it's a pretty big sailboat city. My husband is a marine electrical specialist for yachts down here now. However he lived and worked on sailboats for 10 years in Annapolis.

I actually thought we might be able to score free tickets thru his dad who worked at osu and is a recently retired C-Bus veterinarian. Everyone loves him bc he saves their (insert animal here) so they give him tickets. He was in a bit of a mood today. However, still holding on to hope.

Lodging is looking good.

I don't care about having fancy seats. I would like to know if you guys think TBD9 means section 9, how is it these are still available (won't this sell out? I thought it had actually....). I saw a photo from some part of 9 and it didn't seem bad. Read about the stadium quite a bit.

Normally, I'd wait until the day before concerts but I have a feeling we probably won't be able to get much cheaper than this. (LOL.... this makes it sound like I've gone to a lot of concerts. 2 in the last oh, 18 years. Billy Joel then prob go all the way back to the Barenaked Ladies/Dave Matthews era then.... shamefully looks away.... New Kids on The Block).

Is this where you guys bought your tickets?

I do think that you're looking at close to $500 in tickets anywhere you look in the secondary market. I'm not sure if you'd be able to turn them around easily unless they are electronic tickets. What is the section? Even the seats in rows 70+ were $250+fees that I was seeing on the secondary market.

These are hard tickets (which I learned thru buying for Billy Joel) are the best as far as resale. This is DIRECTLY through the Ohio State Ticketmaster website. Here.....

This link was posted in this 10 TV article...

There's no fee. Just $180 for bleacher seats. It says TBD9.

Would just like to get our $$ back if we can't use them. I think it's looking like we will be able to make it…... earlier I was 50/50 now I would say 60/40.

EDIT: I think I'm going to go for it. I feel like based on the demand around the country, we can probably get our $$ back if we don't go or my FIL somehow gets us tickets. REALLY sorry for all the posts. I realize it's late. Hopefully someone can answer some q's in the morning (thank you so much @Fungo Squiggly and @sparcboxbuck

Im assuming this is section 9 but no row has been assigned. Took a look at some photos and it's not a bad view.

HOWEVER....if we cannot go, do you guys think I can sell these for $180ea? Would just like to get our $$ back. I think it's looking like we will be able to make it…... earlier i was 50/50 now I would say 60/40. My dad left me approx 14k and I have not spent any except for a vintage clock.

As I understand it, OSU doesn't have electronic tickets yet. However, I was always told hard copies are nearly just as good. I would probably just sell on eBay if necessary.

I had to unload a couple grand worth of B1G Championship tickets the year that State Penn went... last time I'll ever buy in the secondary market before it's determined we go to a game. I was able to unload them through StubHub and broke even less my FedEX costs. I prefer the electronic tickets because I can deliver / transfer them easier... but that's my preference and may not be the same for all. So, there's always that option. They were very good seats though so it was easier.

It's hard telling what you'd be able to sell them for... if at all if you don't go. If the game were close to Columbus my guess is that it would be a sure thing. But with that kind of travel, it's really hard to say. Especially if tOSU doesn't sell out their allotment.

My guess is you're looking at a 50/50 at best proposition for unloading if you don't go. But I've felt the sting of being less than a week out and holding pretty expensive State Penn tickets... so I'm a bit more conservative, perhaps, than reality may justify.

The only reason why I think I might be able to get the money is an article I read about how the Urban Meyer thing is driving up sales. Also.... even though it's in the Ohio State section UW fans may want them. Especially if I give them a good price. Lol or I'm just trying to justify buying them. If I buy Tix this is the first step. We should know within the next day or two. So @ least I can unload them to someone w/notice. I'm not going to gouge someone for this type of thing.

One thing I just don't understand is HOW are these still available? I went to Ticketmaster early this morning and $800....lol

EDIT: Looks like you can electronically transfer them. It is ohio st, ticketmaster and something called ticketfast

Yes.... I would prefer electronic versions as well but they have a whole thing on there about how they're getting ready to start doing that but not yet.

Secondary market vs. the school's allotment.
