Game Thread Ohio State vs Army, 09/16/17 @ 4:30 ET (FOX)

Apparently I'm a mother fucker for saying the back up should've been given more time today so may be people are pulling for JT more so?

It feels to me though that majority of folks want Haskins. Me personally it doesn't matter I just want whoever can move the sticks

What I think I saw:
  • still don't have a down field passing threat and it's mostly the inability of the QB to throw it that far accurately and on time
  • OSU can out-athlete teams like Army within the self inflicted 10 yard box around the LOS, we knew that coming in
  • WR's can't block with out holding and still struggle to get seperation
  • KO's and coverage leave a lot to be desired
Tuf Borland, JK Dobbins and Haskins make you remember the future is bright(ish). The struggles of guys who looked like future all americans a few years back dampen the enthusiasm (at least for me).
Didn't see this before... I agree with this.

Serious question - Is the general consensus that OSU fans are content with sticking with JT, going to a mid-level bowl game and focusing on next year with Haskins? Or are there people who genuinely believe that with JT at the helm this team can repeat the magic of 2014? I'm not asking this to be cynical. After all, you can't win a NC every year. I'm genuinely curious.

I hate to sound negative, but barring major changes/an act of god this team doesn't have what it takes to go the distance this year. I'd rather win a mid level bowl, than go to the playoffs and further damage our brand by getting reamed by Bama or Clemson on the National stage. Let's get this thing firing on all cylinders and go in and kill em. I'm not ok with getting there merely to fall short. Go big, or not at all. There is no substitute for victory!

I disagree, it is ALWAYS better to go to the playoffs than a mid level bowl.

Have taken the wife to a few games over the years, she said that was her favorite experience yet. First time we've gotten the kids dropped off at her parents in Grove City early enough to make a skull session (mother in law was at work, so that saved us a 45 minute conversation). The paratroopers; the helicopter flyover. Had some knowledgeable fans in our section. Treated to a TBDBITL serenade in our area three different times. The boutique nachos on the concourse near section 17 with fresh cut tomatoes, cilantro, and BBQ chicken were absolutely worth the $10. Could have ate four servings of that and called it a day.

And Tuf Borland is my new favorite Buckeye. Don't know if it flashed on TV, but his ability to pursue down the line, shed blocks, and hold the edge was a blast to watch. He's got some Laurinaitis in him. Destined to be a star.

I think Worley just got Wally Pipped. Needs to move back to OLB and a lot of the LB problems are remedied.

I only want us to go to the playoffs if Haskins is starting tbh. I saw enough last year to know those bubble screens get blown the hell up by a playoff team. I think the defense will look like a top 25 defense come November though. I just have no faith in JT at this point. None. He displayed all of the exact same problems he had last week. We just grossly out talented our opponent.

Agreed. We aren't gonna be able to out talent\out-muscle them every week. At this point a B1G Championship is a distant hope. All I really care about is beating TSUN. Anything else is just cake. As long we beat those fuckers up north I'll be satisfied.
