Game Thread Ohio State vs Cincinnati - 09/07/19, 12:00PM (ABC)

Ohio State will start out winning, but Cincinnati will come back in the 2nd quarter with a couple of good drives. 21-20 at halftime. 3rd quarter will start off the way the 2nd quarter ended and Cincinnati will get a 27-21 lead early in the second half, but Ohio State will take over on both sides of the ball at that point, and win 42-27.

If UCLA had a QB that could throw they would have beaten Cincy by 11. UCLA had WR's open...especially deep. UC is vulnerable in the secondary.

I think FAU has better skill players than UC does. UCLA is a borderline bowl team. Our defense is night and day better than UCLA and the game is in the Shoe.

I think we beat UC worse than we beat FAU. I think Fields and our team in general get better this week.

Distinct possibility.

The opening drive, Chip Kelly had game planned UC's defense very well. UCLA drove the length of the field before Johnny 3 names & 4 thumbs started his dance of the flaming asshole turnover machine thing.

OSU LB's/Bullet will determine how much UC scores. UC OL, like most this year, will be physically overmatched by OSU DL. UC's "deep threat" WR will be taken away by Okudah. Scrambling QB and TE will be up to LB's.

On offense I think you see OSU come out with QB under center, 2 TE's, ram it down UC's throat then work in the play action passing.

FAU started to have some success by confusing the OL protections with delayed blitzes from a 3 man front. UC is good at that, limit how much you put Fields and the OL in that spot.

I’m hoping:

The defensive line brings it again: that first half was one of the most dominant up-front performances I’ve seen. It looked like the kind of unit that can keep you in a game by itself.

Offensive line exercises more consistency with its aggressiveness

The staff has Fields in a position to make quick decisions to counter heavy pressure and blitzing.

I have the same feeling. We win something like 45 to 13.

Defense will probably be annoyed the back ups allowed 100yds and a TD. Offense will have urgency to play hard for longer this time.

Especially the offense, I think they came away from the first game being a little disappointed.

I think we will see a more even performance this time and not such a hot and cold game.

with 4 turn overs from Johnny 3 names
Exactly. They will not be able to run the ball and they don't have the weapons out wide to hurt us.

All just boils down to how our OL plays. If they play well we will hurt this UC team and if they don't we probably win by 10.

If Dobbins doesn't get back on track I'll be a little nervous for the offense going forward. Dobbins has to find a way to get some yards.
