Game Thread Ohio State vs Indiana, 10/08/16 @ 3:30 ET, ESPN/WatchESPN

I think that the way this team struggled will do a lot to help them in coming weeks. When I hear this bloody Heisman chatter about two players, I always wonder if kids don't start believing that they walk on water. Coming after a blowout shutout last week, this may be exactly what this team needs.

Barrett had his worst game this year. So, did the O line. The wind was only 15 mph during the game, so it wasn't all that bad. So, the coaching staff also need to think a bit harder about their game plan and the play calling. I would have loved to see the final touchdown, but they won better than it looked like they might for many stretches in the game.

Good night!
Hard to take away anything from this game offensively imo. Meyer's had a game like this at least once ever since he's been here, and the team generally lights up their opponents next week. Most of the offensive struggles had to do with JT imo. He missed three wide open receivers today.

Sloppy game, but I would have to agree with Urban, IU was the best defense so far. I feel like Kevin Wilson prepares for tOSU more than any other team. Pass defense was solid run defense not so much.(for IU) gotta give props to them and they should have a decent year. On our side, pass game was terrible but the run game is legit. Weber should be getting 20+ carries a game. He doesn't break off big runs like Zeke, but he does very good at positive yardage. JT has got to get in rythm by next week because Wisky will be our first test against the run. Defense looked good a couple blown plays, a couple pass plays and the touchdown that no one was near the guy. Run defense looked great all game. Special teams on kickoff a had 1 or 2 bad coverages. Not going to be an easy game next weekend but I am glad this team faced a difficult game now rather than in Camp Randall. I hate when we play there not so fond memories, but I think this game is a good stepping stone. Also props to the crowd in the first half they got loud and helped out on a couple plays. Hoping next weekend they stick to what works and dominate Wisky. Best part about going 5-0 is the chance to go 6-0, Go Bucks!

Hopefully Pa Bosa...

that would certainly be preferred, sure. but all i know for certain is we need babies in there asap!

This team clearly has a lot of growing to do. The inexperience finally showed up.

it was going to at some point. no matter how talented your team, when they are as young as this team is. you WILL have at least one game where the offense AND the defense doesn't show up and play anywhere near their ability. your only hope is they don't do it on the same night and the other side of the ball can make up for them.

but really, is there a time this season that would have been better than tonight for the offense to play poorly? we play wisky next week on the road at night. thats a tough place to play against a really good d. my guess is no one on that offense is going to show up to practice with a big head this week.

the offense was straight up off tonight, but thats a 100% legit indiana team. not sure i ever expected to type those words in that order without heavy sarcasm... but thats the reality. indiana is legit, the o played well below their ability and we still dominated the scoreboard. not a whole lot else outside of defensive stats... but imo this is the reality check the offense has needed since norman.

yes, the o is elite. yes, the o might be the best in the country. yes, if just one guy shows up below 100%... today can absolutely be the result.

we're in big 10 play boys.

I agree with the spirit of your post. It's a win and it has lots of lessons for the team. Still, BYU owned MSU today. 31-14 and basically doubled their offensive output 398-206. Maybe losing to Indiana broke them but MSU is not a quality win.

Okay? I don't take BYU into any kind of consideration at all. The simple fact is our guys are going to get everyone's best shot from here on out. It doesn't matter who we are playing or where we are playing at. I'll give credit to IU and Kevin Wilson for never quitting and playing tough. Hoosier = annoying :pumpkin:. Wasn't an easy game to watch today but in the end it gave our guys a chance to do what's important, get to 6-0.
