The Golden Flashes of Kent State travel to Columbus on Saturday, where they haven't been since 2007. The 32 point underdogs are looking to get in the win column for the first time this season, while the Buckeye look to rebound from their 35-21 loss to Virginia Tech last week. The Buckeyes will also be welcoming back defensive end Noah Spence, who has been serving a suspension and hasn't played since the B1G Championship Game last season.

What "they" are saying about this matchup....

I think the line should be around -42 not -32.

While a big environment im not sure where kent's head will be following 2 home losses.

Factor in OSU is coming off a tough loss and are pissed. and oh yeah every player on their roster would be a starter at Kent and this one could get ugly quick.

I'll say 49-6 Buckeyes. and for full disclosure I hate the buckeyes. I just don't see a division 1 team in blue and gold.

thanksjim
I gotta give Paul Haynes credit for accepting the challenge of beating OSU. I can remember Doug Martin basically conceding the game in his weekly press conference back in 2007. I'm sure that gave the players a lot of confidence.

I agree with Haynes that the game is more mental than physical. I'm sure he is looking for those types of players on the recruiting trail like the Holley twins. The 2012 season was successful not because we were the most physically gifted team, but because they were the most mentally prepared.

I'm thinking our ground game will be lucky to eclipse 30 yards rushing against that D.... This game is a recipe for disaster. I think best we can hope for is no major injuries.

Slinkin Street Flash
I can't think of anything good that can come out of the Ohio State game either, except the cash.

There comes a point where, down by 21 points in the first half, players realize that they're taking a beating, and that beating's going to continue for the rest of the game. You hope that they don't hold a grudge against the University.

As a comparison, look at Najee Murray. If he's on the Buckeyes, he's still deep in the depth chart at cornerback. He comes to Kent State, and he's one of the top players.

- Team has rebounded well. Good practice yesterday.
- Pretty close to being 9 units strong.
- Chad Lindsay badly injured shoulder in training camp. Wish him the best. Good kid. Will finish grad school at OSU.
- Didn't think the defense was bad Saturday, but wants more. Played very good defense for 3 quarters. Young secondary getting better.
- TBD how Noah Spence will be brought back in to things. Will see how he responds on Saturday.
- No change in RB rotation. Mentions Zeke, Curtis & Rod.
- Jamarco Jones getting close. Had sprained ankle in training camp & is finally over that. Had a really good week of practice. Demetrius Knox also had impressive week of practice.
- Wants to see the team start fast. Hasn't happened yet this season.
- Thinks Kent State is a very good MAC school that has a QB that can make plays.
- Talks about the penalties that were killers on Saturday.
- It's about time the WRs start making some plays.
- Johnnie Dixon & Noah Brown are very close to being involved.
- Expects Kent State to be a hungry group on Saturday. Recaps his success against BCS schools during his time at BG.

In several of his presser's I have heard the same lady reporter ask him one or more questions and he often answers her with "that's a good question" and in a lot of cases I would agree. She seems to actually have some insight/knowledge about football etc. Does anyone know any background on her, who she is affiliated with, that kind of stuff? It's kind of refreshing to hear someone question him that sounds like they might have actually spent some time thinking about an intelligent question as opposed to some of the stuff that comes out of people like Tim May for instance.

Every time I see one of these vids I'm always hoping she gets a question or two in. I think she is clearly better than her male counterparts. Tim May asks the same damn question 3 times in different ways to get what he wants. I'd truly love for one of these things to get ugly one day and see him get knocked out.
