Game Thread Ohio State vs Maryland - 11/09/19, 12:00PM (FOX)

One of my favorite Gus calls!
And one of the worst targeting calls ever.

I don't understand how you call that targeting. It meets NONE of the criteria. He doesn't use his helmet, he doesn't go for the guy's head, he wasn't "defenseless". But even more infuriating is how the hell do you not overturn that on replay?

See, I'm still pissed.

Me too.

It got me thinking how earlier this year Austin Mack had a nice, shifty after the catch run for a TD called back. Afterward he mentioned something like; just putting it on tape and being ready for his next opportunity. (Ward made more plays and cashed in on Draft day)

Plus didn’t the B1G officially come out and say it should’ve been overturned and was in fact not targeting?

Will be in NOLA for the weekend celebrating wife’s birthday. Surprisingly she asked if there are an tOSU bars for watching the game. Found this in the main ‘watch location’ thread:

LOUISIANA/Greater New Orleans
The Fox & Hound English Pub & Grille
1200 S. Clearview Parkway
in the Elmwood Shopping Center
Jefferson LA
(504) 730-6000
Susan Morrow Finley
(504) 342-4695

Anyone able to confirm if a) this is still the place or b) if there isn’t somewhere else? Not exactly excited bout going to NOLA and watching a game in a bar that I can go to here in Chicago.

@Nutriaitch? What say you? Any intel?

Gracias!

Edit: Also just found this:

Mid City Yacht Club
440 S St Patrick St, New Orleans, LA 70119

to be honest, i haven’t been in a bar in New Orleans in 10-12 years, so not sure which ones to suggest.

but there is a Seafood and Oyster joint called Jaeger’s like a half mile or so from the Fox and Hound you mentioned.

Really good food there.
and they do have TVs typically with games playing.

this being a month that contains an R and having a cold front passing in next day or two, the Oysters should be on point.

I highly recommend trying the Char Grilled Oysters

Thanks man! I’m completely aware that it’s Oyster season. We’re big fans. Maybe I’ll pour some booze down her throat with some Oysters and I’ll get lucky.

Do appreciate.

Have plans to hit the Palace Cafe and the Napoleon House as well. Palace is one of my favs.

Any other tips, I’m all ears.

if you’re into History at all and have most of a day to kill, i very highly recommend the WWII museum.

Very well done.
Takes several hours to see it all, but worth the time and money.

Also, word of warning.
Saints at home vs Falcons this weekend.
traffic anywhere close to downtown will most likely be horrendous.

other than that, not sure what else to suggest.
i’m a bayou boy at heart, so i tend to avoid the big cities.

but like an hour or so south of Nola you can find some really good swamp tours that are probably nice this time of year.

Something in the Gibson, LA area would be the direction i would recommend.
Don’t remember name if the tour, but one leaves from the back dock of Bayou Delight seafood.
Really good food there too.

If you really want to get lucky, go for the beignets and get her a few hurricanes from Pat O’Briens.

Does this look like a man who fucks around when bartending?

Nice natty boh reference. I’ve only been to Baltimore twice and know what that is. It’s quite ubiquitous there.

The first time I ordered it was at a pretty nice restaurant and I thought National Bohemian sounded like a fancy beer.

Then I saw all the tall boys at the 9am tailgates and realized it’s true status.

I lived in Columbia, Maryland for 10 years. Yeah, it's local and all, but it's more on the level of Iron City or Busch that Great Lakes or Land Grant.
