Ohio State vs. Maryland, Friday, January 18 @ 630 pm, FS1

yeah, I think it's gut check time and they find a way to grind one out at home. Wisc shot lights out 2nd half and almost came back to beat them. Mentally, TO's need to be cut in half, and someone has to step up and hit shots down the stretch when the game is on the line.

This will never happen but part of me almost wishes coach would treat the turnovers like fouls. You get two turnovers, you sit for a long time. Sit again if you get four. Five turnovers and you're TO'd out of the game. Of course, there are plenty of situations where that wouldn't fly, but yeah, man, the TOs against Iowa were just disgusting.

And you are absolutely right about needing someone to step up and make some plays when the game is on the line. Even though we competed well with MSU for most of the game, I became pretty concerned with our team down the stretch of that one. We couldn't defend without fouling and no one could make a shot or a play when we really needed it. Unfortunately that's kind of carried over into our last two games.

We really need players to step up and to work together to get some flow and execution back into the offense and to maintain full energy on the defensive end. I think the offensive struggles have been kind of sapping at this team's focus and composure and ability to bring it every possession.

Two teams trending in opposite directions at the moment. I'm hoping the couple extra days this week got really fresh legs for this game. They have to realize and know for a fact that their defense is what propels them every game. Play smothering defense, without fouling, and be opportunistic in the transition. Shots will fall eventually but put that frustration on the other team to figure it out.

I hope that this is not Holtmann during tonight's game

Borrowing from a Jardy tweet, the good news for OSU is MD is 12th in the league in defensive turnover percentage in conference games. The bad news for OSU is they are 13th in the B1G in offensive turnover rate in B1G games. So let's hope that OSU's poor offensive fundamentals do not get exploited to the tune of a loss this time.
