Ohio State vs. Maryland, Saturday, 12:00 PM, ESPN2

Not sure if you're being sarcastic, but I think there's some truth to this. Today's game is WAY better than IU. Against IU, we just gave up. Today, we're playing a better team who is having a phenomenal day shooting the ball. It happens. If Maryland regresses back to the mean a bit in the second half, we will be able to pull closer. Regardless, this game's nowhere near as bad as that train wreck in Bloomington.
Then again...

None of the older guys want to lead. Loving shuts it down and pouts when things go bad. It looks like Lyle is the only one out there willing to get on guys.
Loving is the only older guy. No seniors and only Loving as a junior means the underclassmen have to figure it out for themselves. They don't have anyone to learn from. The sophomores had one year of Scott, Thompson, and Williams to set an example for them last year so none of the younger guys have really enjoyed any kind of useful leadership from more experienced players.

Thompson in the other guy the same age but this is only his first year with the team. I thought Tate might step into the void but he too seems to pout and play with a lack of effort when his shot isn't falling.

OSU apparently stopped recruiting him this week which is weird.
Apparently the word on the grapevine is that there were some shady goings on in his recruitment. Dave Biddle was on the radio yesterday saying as much, according to his sources. He mentioned Arizona getting in on his recruitment very late in the game. It sounded like Matta didn't like some things that were happening and wanted to distance himself. That would make sense because, even if you knew you weren't going to get a top recruit, it doesn't hurt to be listed among the contenders when he announces his commitment.

What makes it really interesting is the fact that it's Thad's buddy Sean who is running that other program. I would love to know the full story behind this one.
