Game Thread Ohio State vs Michigan State, 11/11/17 @ 12:00 ET (FOX)

Dantonio and Company’s Silent Night:

amp.freep.com/amp/857132001

“This is one you want to burn,” Dantonio said on his Sunday night teleconference, “and you don’t want it to be indicative of how you play all the time.”

It was an across-the-board breakdown, both on instantaneous glance and upon further review for Dantonio. Everything he believed problematic in the moments after the worst loss in his 11 seasons at MSU were confirmed in that one viewing Sunday morning.

#Shhhhh!

WOW

I cant remember the last time I had to just stop watching. That game was a worse case across the board.

OSU came pissed.
MSU came....well I cant really even figure that one out.

Couple things that stood out to me:

- MSU QB was not sharp or even dull, he was rounded off like a basketball...LOL
- OSU O-Line was getting a massive push from the word go, after first series my buddies and I were hoping that MSU was just asleep
- Once OSU saw that MSU was not going to ba able to pass very weel it was basically over

At 14-0 I was just hoping MSU could muster up some stops and lose gracefully.

MSU should finish 9-3 which I was hoping for a 7-5 after last season. Feel like 10-2 was the real number as the lose to NW still stings. I had this game as a loss and I am only surprised by the magnitude not the result.

Please Please Please in the name of all that is holy on this earth beat the living crap out of the skunk bears. My life living in the middle of them is only tolerable when they are properly beaten down. I am reading now that they still have a change to win the B10 East of they win THE GAME. So get the boys riled up and properly focused.

I don't understand what happened. That was just a brutal stomping. I KNOW MSU is not that bad. I agree with greyshirt, they should finish 9-3 and get to a good bowl and I hope they do. I was at the game and down from us were a pair of MSU guys that came down from Lansing. They were very loud the first 5 minutes of the game, but then not a peep. They stayed to the bitter end, I gotta give 'em that. As they passed me on the way to the steps they said "good game, beat Michigan". I told them that we needed to stop beating PSU in the 4th quarter because it seems to lead to terrible beatings the following week. Just kick their ass from the get-go, lol.

Actually good guys.

I don't think they have a chance. Looking at the tiebreaking rules on the Big Ten site:

http://www.bigten.org/sports/m-footbl/archive/081011aaa.html

Damn - I can't copy and paste.

Anyway, if three or more teams are tied, you begin dwindling that down until you have two teams remaining. At two, the winner head-to-head goes to the championship game.

1. The records of the 3+ teams will be compared. (I'm guessing that's just conference record. I don't think the out-of-conference record means two squirts to conference championships. If I'm wrong, then never mind this whole post.) Obviously all 4 teams will be tied. Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, and Michigan would all be 7-2.

2. Records compared within their division. Ohio State and Michigan State would be 5-1. Penn State and Michigan would each be 4-2. So they're out.

Now it's just Ohio State and Michigan State, and Ohio State won in the head-to-head.

If it DOES consider overall record, Ohio State would be 9-3, Michigan State would be 9-3, and Penn State and Michigan would each be 10-2. Penn State wins over Michigan based on head-to-head.

Again, that's all IF Ohio State beats Illinois, Michigan beats Wisconsin and Ohio State, Penn State beats Nebraska (or whatever you want to call them) and Maryland, and Michigan State beats whoever they still have on their schedule.

Brother Lachey preachin' it about about the [fuck your teenage daughters]ty targeting calls on Buckeye Roundtable.

Someone asked during the game if any Buckeye opponents have ever been ejected for targeting. I want to say there have been one or two but I didn't answer because I don't know for sure. The Roundtable couldn't think of any and one guy said he tried to research it.

I would love to see a video compilation of every ejection for targeting alongside a compilation of every targeting call that was overturned. Given access to all the film I'm pretty sure I could compile a list of examples of practically identical hits that went uncalled, got called for ejection and were overturned, and were upheld as ejections for targeting. There is no consistency.
