Game Thread Ohio State vs Nebraska, 11/05/16, 8:00pm ET ABC

This is my first post and probably my only post, I am one of many Cornhusker fans that want fans of "Thee Ohio State Buckeyes" to know that I watched the game from my Big screen TV in Nebraska like a majority of the people here did and I have to say first that I'm sorry that we did not make a good showing today, we were truly outplayed and out coached in every aspect of the game. I have to say that I have never really been a fan of OSU but i have never been a hater; you like NU have had your share of them. I guess the one thing I have always loved about OSU is that there are probably the only fans that hate Michicken as much as i do.
But tonight I saw a side of your team, coaches and fans that I rarely see anymore in football; i saw genuine concern for a downed player from an opposing side, when Tommy Armstrong went down all of Nebraska went silent, not for the ballplayer but for the man behind the helmet. I was amazed and impressed how concerned your stadium appeared to be when he went down. Thank you for renewing my faith in this game they call football; i still am a diehard Husker fan and I hope to someday soon be able to watch our team return the beating that we took today; but, know that there are many fans of Ohio State at least until they play the Huskers in many parts of Huskerland.
Now go, beat the Michicken Bloverines and unless we should happen to meet again this year.; win out and then take down the tide for the national championship. Good Luck.

God Bless

I was talking to the guy sitting next to me at the game. He was mentioning that lately some of the Ohio State players weren't playing that well. I commented that there are only two things really important in the game tonight:

1) the final score

2) nobody gets hurt really bad

Also there was a nice tribute to Sam Foltz:

Ohio State put a lot of tributes in place Saturday to honor late Husker punter Sam Foltz.

Ohio State loves the bright lights of Ohio Stadium at night. The record shows it too. Ohio State's 62-3 annihilation of Nebraska improved its record to 15-4 in all games played at Ohio Stadium that kicked off at 7:45 p.m. or later.

A lot of questions about this team were answered last night, but they missed a key part of the game. Punt protection has been pretty bad the last few weeks, and I'm still concerned in that area. Perhaps we should have tried some punts on those late game 2nd and 3rd downs. A little disappointed.

Nah, that's what blowout games against Maryland are for. With a game against a top 10 opponent, that's when you keep your foot on the gas, even if the score is getting lopsided. Maybe if they managed to hit 70+ with time for a few drives still, then maybe you do that in the game. Next week, however, if they're in a similar spot I would think that's when you pull that.

Unlike scUM, who feels the need to embarrass Rutgers in their own house, running up the score simply to fill Harbaugh's egotistical head with thoughts of respect from the pollsters.

Many have countered this by saying, what are they supposed to do, not play? No. But, they could've shown a lot more class during that game by simply agreeing to a 24 min 2nd half as Clemson did with SC St.

I'm sure his cheap ass was also thinking of getting 78% off at Ruth Chris.

Observations about the offense..

1. We did some things that we normally never do and it really worked out Beautiful in keeping them off balance. We utilized the middle of the field with JT throwing 16 (roughly half his passes) through the middle.

We used the quick jet and touch pass to success which is huge in stressing the defenses eyes later in the game if ran correctly.

We threw to the open man and never forced the issue which was great to see. Finally, thank God no option football.

2. We threw on first down a ton this game which is good because we really had a reputation of running the ball early in downs.

3. LITTLE JT called runs... we have too many people that need to get the ball and JT being asked to run just doesn't make a ton of sense. Dontre, Curtis, and Weber did a good job.

4. No turnovers and we sustained a ton of drives due to hitting a ton of 3rd down conversions
