Ohio State Looks to Keep Momentum on Their Side as They Travel to Take on Nebraska

If there’s a time in the college basketball season to hit your stride, it’s right now and Ohio State (17-10, 9-5 Big Ten) seem to be doing just that.

After multiple losing streaks early in the season, the Buckeyes appear to be getting on a roll. The Scarlet and Gray have won three straight including a big 76-66 win over rivals Michigan on Tuesday night

“We knew that we had to get the Michigan game,” center Trevor Thompson said on Friday.

“The Michigan game, we really just knew we had to get this one and we have to continue to keep building and building and just using how we played against Michigan as our identity for the rest of the season.”

An identity is something this team has searched for all year. Throughout the struggles, head coach Thad Matta has preached finding a few things on either side of the ball that OSU can hang its hat on.

Against the Wolverines, the Buckeyes played their most complete game of the year, holding a talented three-point shooting team to 21 percent from behind the arc and employed a balanced attack offensively.

Now it’s about consistently carrying that consistency over to the next game.

“As I told those guys the other night, every time this team ever feels good we crash and shoot ourselves in the foot,” Matta said.

“We know we have to come out and execute because they have a good crowd, they play good at home,” Thompson said. “So we can’t take this game lightly and we have to just come out, be prepared, and be ready for a fight.”

Look good, feel good, play good!!! We gotta have this one, there's no two ways about it. Beat the Huskers and we got a shot at taking down one of the conference giants in Iowa or Michigan State. Lose here and I feel like the teams confidence level will be so low, for them to pull it together and win 2 of the next 3 just seems unlikely. This is that game, it really makes no difference who were playing we have to play the way we did against the TUN from here on out to get where we wanna go. I've seen a lot of improvement in a short period which is a sign some of these guys are starting to get it, it appears the game is slowing down a bit leading to less mistakes. Lets see if Loving can keep up his demeanor, which has been much better. Lyle needs to keep making smart decisions with the basketball and our shooters need to be aggressive, especially if they are hot. GO BUCKS!!!!
