Ohio State vs. Penn State, Friday, 630pm, BTN

Also not to keep bringing this up but Thad would have kept Braxton Beverly and not had Dakich which would have been a significant upgrade, if only that man's back surgery didn't go wrong...
if only the 2015 class hadn't been a back alley abortion. i'm ecstatic that ho1t is our coach, but there's no doubt matta would still be here if the 2015 class had been just average instead of a 5-man failure of epic proportions. i don't give matta much of a pass there, either. lyle had several red flags as a high schooler. both giddens and grandstaff's fathers were the kind of parents every coach dreads. i think mickey's a decent kid, but his parents were also trouble (to put it nicely; they're loud-mouth idiots in the stands). aj harris was a good player to go after, but i think grades were a problem, though i may be wrong.

This team had a great run, and no one expected it, but I didn't watch the game with much glee. They have lost the spark that took them to an undeserved top 10 ranking. They have been very suspect against top quartile teams outside the MSU and Purdue games and the home win over TSUN. When is the last time there were in-game comments about their outstanding defensive hustle? 3-3 to end the season with a one and done in the Tourney and an OT win at Indiana.

I am hoping that they are lucky enough to get a 5 seed and avoid a 12 upset. The sports science people really need to get this team back on its wheels. Their lack of depth has left them flattened. They can still make a Sweet 16 run, but not playing like yesterday.

I am incredibly proud of them no matter what.

Loss still bothers me. Do not understand why Holtmann did not play Tate instead of Andrew for most the entire last 7 minutes of the game. Dakich is just a nonfactor on offense and is almost a liability. Just stood in the corner with the ball a couple times when he was wide open. Tate could have done that and certainly would have done much better on defense against Carr in the last 15 seconds or so. Just do not understand the substitutions in the last few minutes.
