Ohio State vs. Virginia Tech Game Preview

The Hokies travel to Columbus on Saturday night, for the first ever meeting between the two storied programs. Despite all the tradition, the main story line seems to be the inexperience for both clubs. Virginia Tech returns 9 starters on offense, but is replacing starting QB Logan Thomas (NFL Draft) with Texas Tech transfer Michael Brewer. Meanwhile, the Buckeyes are also replacing their starting QB after two-time B1G Offensive POY & Heisman candidate Braxton Miller suffered a season ending injury in training camp. Redshirt Freshman J.T. Barrett made his first career start for the Buckeyes last week against the Naval Academy and looked impressive in the 34-17 victory.

Quarterback isn't the only inexperienced position with these two clubs, as Virginia Tech has suffered several key losses on the offensive line, while Ohio State replaces four starters (NFL Draft) from a year ago. Many questions also remain for the Buckeye defense, as a complete overhaul was completed during the offseason, with the hirings of Co-Defensive Coordinator Chris Ash and Defensive Line Coach Larry Johnson Sr.

Will the Silver Bullets return to their old ways or will Beamer Ball play spoiler in The Shoe? Let us know your prediction and join us during the action in the game thread.
