Ohio State Women's Basketball (2023-24 B1G CHAMPS)

Will be out of town Thurs thru Sunday. Up in mountains, no internet/cable reception. Anyone know time/channel, etc so can tape it when come back on Sunday evening? Thanks in advance. Go Bucks. Hope Mavaunga is ready to go (hard), when they play. Have been really, really impressed how well Torii and Alexa (my favorite on team), played. They are a great one-two punch, and especially when they play high-low together. Wonder why the men Buckeyes didn't try that with their bigs?????? Go Bucks

Got it, thanks Jake. Sorry the Domers lost their best player, could give them a psychological advantage. But on tOSU side, could let Mavaunga ease back into playing a bit. Hope we get the balanced attack we have seen.....Go Bucks

ND sets a school record for most points scored in a tournament game as the Bucks end the season at 28-7, which was far better than their male counterparts. The Final Four will be played in Columbus next year and the Bucks only lose one senior from this team.

While the Final 4 will be played a Columbus next season and we only have one senior on the roster, Yukon gets another major influx of talent and will not lose many off of their current roster.
On another note, I do not think that Yukon's winning streak comes close to the dominance of the UCLA men's winning streak and I would like to see Geno try his hand at coaching a men's team if he has such a brilliant basketball mind.

Yukon? I'm just looking at reaching the Final Four. That's about as good as it gets as long as Geno keeps getting the 5 best HS players every year.

Kelsey Mitchell coming back for her senior year.

Kelsey Mitchell wants one more crack at a Final Four.

Ohio State announced Wednesday evening Mitchell would return for her senior season in Columbus.

"Getting a degree from The Ohio State University was one of my top goals when coming to college and I look forward to completing my degree next spring," Mitchell, the two-time Big Ten Player of the Year, said in a statement. "My teammates and I also have a number of goals we have yet to accomplish on the court. One of those goals is to play in the Final Four and we have a tremendous opportunity to do that next year here in Columbus. I'm excited to get back in the gym with my teammates and continue to work to get better."

This past season as a junior, Mitchell averaged 22.6 points and 3.9 assists per game. She was named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press and helped guide the Buckeyes to a Big Ten regular-season title and a Sweet 16 appearance.

Mitchell is currently the program's third all-time leading scorer. Her 2,553 career points are behind only Jantel Lavender's 2,818 and Katie Smith's 2,578. Mitchell's career average of 24.5 points per game is a program best, however, topping Smith's 20.8.

She owns over 40 other program, conference and national records including the program's all-time 3-point record with 368 made 3s, as well as the single-season NCAA with 127 made 3-pointers during the 2015 season, the same season she became the first freshman ever to lead the nation in scoring.

try using voice-activated software and you will get tired of spelling UConn:biggrin: That is why I cannot keep up with your posts.

Actually, I enjoy mockingly spelling it "Yukon" anyway. Confession time: when I was a kid and I heard a TV guy mention "the UConn Huskies" I first thought they were from Alaska. It was probably some highlights of them getting rolled by Ernie DiGregorio's Providence Friars.

A lady friend of mine from South Carolina had to remind me that the women's team along with the men's team from the state of South Carolina are both playing in their respective Final 4's. She then had to mention the Clemson football team and the Coastal Carolina baseball team (NCAA champs last year). I have no come back except for synchronized swimming.
