OKLAHOMA STATE POINT GUARD BRAXTIN MILLER TO TRANSFER TO THE OHIO STATE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM

For a few more years, the Buckeyes will have a Braxton Miller to cheer for – just a slightly different spelling this time.

Point guard Braxtin Miller, originally from Centerville, Ohio, announced her decision to return home and transfer to Ohio State after two seasons at Oklahoma State.

Miller was the No. 22 point guard prospect in the country coming out of high school in 2017. At Alter High School, she was part of a record 115 wins and three state championships, reaching the final four all four of her high school seasons.

Her sophomore season at Oklahoma State, Miller averaged 14.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 32.7 percent from 3-point range.

Though she'll likely sit out the upcoming season in accordance with NCAA transfer regulations, Miller joins a loaded group of Buckeye newcomers that includes four five-star prospects – Kierstan Bell, Rikki Harris, Jacy Sheldon and Kaelynn Satterfield – as well as a top international prospect in Aixa Wone and Rebeka Mikulasikova, a 6-3 center from Slovakia.

Women’s Basketball: Braxtin Miller, Rebeka Mikulasikova join Ohio State for 2019-20 season

Mikulasikova spent her past three seasons playing for Piestanske Cajky, a club team in the highest league in Slovakia. Her team won the Slovakian cup in 2017 and finished as the runner-up in the Central Europe Women’s League.

Mikulasikova averaged 8.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, shooting about 50 percent from the field.

Mikulasikova has also played on four Slovakian National Teams.

“I’m really excited to add Rebeka to the Buckeye family,” McGuff said in a statement. “She’s going to provide great depth with our post players and she’s extremely versatile. She is skilled around the basket and she can also play on the perimeter. I think she has a chance to be a special player here.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State will host ACC power Louisville in this year’s Big Ten ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The game is set for Thursday, Dec. 5 at Value City Arena. Tip time and TV designation will be announced at a later date.

This will be just the third meeting all-time between the two programs. The previous two meetings have both been great games. The first matchup came as part of the Women’s Sports Foundation Classic at Value City Arena on Dec. 14, 2001. The Buckeyes shot over 53 percent in the contest but the Cardinals were able to erase a seven-point second-half deficit to come away with a 67-66 victory.

The second meeting came two years ago in the Countdown to Columbus event on Nov. 12, 2017 at Nationwide Arena. Playing at the site of that season’s Final Four and in front of nearly 10,000 people, All-Americans Kelsey Mitchell and Asia Durr put on a show. Mitchell, who was celebrating her 22nd birthday, led the Buckeyes with 26 points and eight assists and made a clutch free throw with five seconds remaining to send the game to overtime. But Durr took over in the extra session, finishing with a school-record 47 points and pulling the Cards to a 95-90 victory.

Last year in the challenge, the Buckeyes took down North Carolina 76-69 in Columbus to snap a six-game losing streak in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Overall, Ohio State is 3-9 in the 12 years of the challenge.

Louisville is coming off a 32-4 campaign that saw it claim a share of the ACC regular season crown and earn a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season. The Cardinals rolled at home over Nebraska 85-68 in their Big Ten/ACC Challenge matchup last season.

Games against UConn, Louisville and Stanford highlight Ohio State women's basketball's non-conference schedule for the 2019-20 season.

Ohio State women's basketball released its non-conference slate for the 2019-20 season, and it once again features matchups against UConn, Louisville and Stanford, which all finished in the top-7 of the national rankings at the end of last season.

UConn, who advanced to the Final Four last season, will travel to Columbus on Nov. 24, and Louisville, who lost to UConn in the regional semifinal, will visit Ohio State on Dec. 5. Those games surround Ohio State's attendance of the South Point Shootout in Las Vegas, where the Buckeyes will play South Dakota and Northern Iowa.

The game against Stanford will take place Dec. 15 during a two-game West Coast trip to close out the non-conference schedule.

Last season, Ohio State lost to Connecticut 85-53. The last matchups with Louisville and Stanford occurred in the 2017-18 season, when Ohio State defeated Stanford 85-64 but lost to Louisville 95-90 in overtime.

Ohio State's matchup with Stanford last season was cancelled due to the wildfires that struck the West Coast late in 2018.
