  • Are than any current or former Lady Buckeye golfers on the forum? My daughter is looking at OSU as a possibility to play golf.

She played Varsity as sophmore and wil be heading into her junior season next year at Indianapolis Cathedral. They play in one of the toughest Districts in the State. She is playing IJPGA tournaments this summer on the Pepsi Tour.

I'm looking for any advice on how to get her noticed by OSU's coaches.

Jaclyn Lee became the highest individual finisher at the NCAA Women's Golf Championship in Ohio State Women's Golf history, finishing tied for 5th at 4-under for the tournament.

During Monday's final round, Lee held the outright lead and was tied for the lead multiple times. Proud of her.

    Go Buckeyes.

EMMA JANDEL, JESSICA PORVASNIK AND RACHEL ROHANNA, SYMETRA TOUR
While Ohio State’s only current LPGA Tour member, Jaclyn Lee, has yet to play in a tournament this year after missing time last year with a wrist injury, three former Buckeyes are currently playing on the Symetra Tour, the developmental tour for the LPGA.

Rohanna, who has finished in the top 30 in each of her first two events this year, is currently ranked 28th in the Symetra Tour’s Volvik Race to the Card standings, the best of any of the three Ohio State alumnae currently playing on the tour.

TITLE IX: KRATZERT SETS THE STANDARD FOR WOMEN’S GOLF

Cathy Kratzert set a standard of success for the Ohio State women’s golf program, becoming the first Buckeye women’s golfer to win two individual Big Ten titles.

Kratzert won individual Big Ten titles in both 1982 and 1983. She also helped the Buckeyes to a Big Ten team championship in 1983.

Kratzert is tied for second in conference history in Big Ten titles won and she is just one of three Buckeyes (Cheryl Stacy, Mollie Frankhauser) to be a Big Ten medalist twice.

Kratzert earned Second Team All-American honors in 1983 and was named the Ohio State Female Athlete of the Year that same year. She was also a three-time OSU Scholar Athlete (1981-83).

Kratzert went on to compete on the LPGA Tour. She won three events in 1990 and was on the 1990 Solheim Cup team.

Kratzert, now Cathy Gerring, had her professional career cut short after suffering severe burns at an LPGA event in 1992, although she did make a brief return, qualifying for the 1996 US Open.

Kratzert was inducted into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame in 1997.
