Ohio State Synchronized Swimming Hosts Keuka and Michigan

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The synchronized swimming team hosts and competes in its first meet of the season this Saturday at the Bill and Mae McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. Traveling to Ohio State for the tri-meet are Keuka and the University of Michigan. The meet will begin at 1:30 p.m. with the solo routines. Duet and trio competition will follow.
The Buckeyes swept all three routines in 2007 to win the OSU Tri-Meet versus Keuka and Walsh with 97 points.
    2008 Outlook
Twenty-five. That is the magic number for the Ohio State synchronized swimming team and this number has been spoken of several times during the last two seasons in the Buckeye locker room. It also is the number of national championships Ohio State will have won if they can capture the 2008 U.S. Collegiate Synchronized Swimming Championships title in March.

Just shy of Stewart and Theriault were teammates Hannah Shively, from Westerville, Ohio, and Leah Pinette, a Bristol, Conn., native, with a mark of 91.000. Performing an exhibition routine were Buckeyes Michelle Benzie (El Cajon, Calif.) and Jayme DeLancy (Hamden, Conn.). While their score of 89.333 did not count towards the team competition, it was good enough to place them third among all of the duets.

The year 2015 is shaping up to the be one of the best in Ohio State's storied athletic history and it's not even a quarter of the way finished.

That makes fours national titles for Ohio State in 2015 — the football team won the first ever College Football Playoff in January, the Buckeye wrestlers took home their first ever team crown last weekend, the sharpshooters of the pistol squad won their second national title in as many years Thursday and the synchronized swimmers weren't about to be outdone today.

It seems to be a pretty good time to be a Buckeye.

Nice. I know people like to mock this (and I'm one of them), but this program is pretty amazing. Plus, it's been a huge generator of Ohio State Olympic medals since track and swimming are shadows of what they were in the 30s though 60s.
