Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

David Taylor tech falls his opponent in the quarters to move on to the semis, he is crushing it. Has a very tough opponent from India in the semis, but he's one of the USA's best chances at a gold this year and is on fire. Fingers crossed he brings the gold home, would be huge for US wrestling.

Taylor techs his semi finals opponent in short time to make it to the gold medal match! This is about as dominant as I've seen an Olympic wrestler, unreal performance. I will be up at 4am MST to watch him hopefully bring home the gold. Also, Snyder will be up here soon I believe.

This gold match will be something of legends. The Iran guy going against Taylor is equally qualified, going to be an unreal match but hey, I got David all the way. He is on a mission and won't be stopped.

Also, Steveson and Dake just beat the hell out of their opponents in their first match...this US team is seriously loaded. Sorry if this goes outside OSU wrestling with my recent updates, I just figure us wrestling folk support the sport and especially support our US wrestlers in the Olympic regardless of their college. Mods feel free to break this off if need-be. Just rooting on our US wrestlers

HOLY SHIT what a match, Taylor brings home the gold medal in dramatic fashion with a 4-3 win with a double-leg takedown right at the end. Wins gold with a torn singlet, this is the stuff legends are made of. So damn proud of him and all the hard work and countless hours he put into making this moment happen, one of the few times I have teared up for a sports victory. I've watched David put in so many hours at the junior-high school level and I can't even imagine the hours he has put into getting to a gold medal. My entire hometown is going absolutely nuts for this and I wish I could be there to celebrate it with them. Very happy moment for US wrestling and I can't even put into words what this means to St Paris Ohio.

Steveson has been looking unreal, just advanced to the gold medal match. He's our next superstar US wrestler without a doubt, nobody at that weight can keep up with his quickness and movement. Really wish we could have landed him, but I don't think he was ever leaving Minnesota and we have just gotta root for him when he's wrestling for our country.

Steveson’s been unreal. Completely dominated Taha, the reigning gold medalist. Tomorrow morning is going to be the first time in my life I’ve set an alarm to watch a wrestling match.

Haha Taylor's match was the first time I've done that, had to get up at 330am but it was totally worth it. Couldn't do it two days in a row though for Gable, but so amped for him winning gold! So young to win in that fashion, he's going to be a stud for us for years to come. I'll have to watch that match tonight. Our Olympic team is killing it and talk about the B1G showing up. By my count we have 4 medalists and Gilman, Taylor, Amine and Steveson are all B1G. And you'd have to think Snyder at least medals. Quite the showing and an exciting time for US wrestling.

Does anyone know when Snyder wrestles again? The schedules I have been looking up are so confusing to me.

I watched the Steveson match and holy hell, that was every bit as epic if not more than Taylor's win. Two takedowns in 10 seconds to win? I've never seen anything like that in a gold medal match. Pure heart and effort, especially that last takedown. They might as well make a Disney movie about this Olympic team, the conclusions of these matches are flat out magical. Hoping Snyder can compete a trifecta of gold medals.

Yeah, they could write the schedules in Japanese and they might be clearer; and I can't read Japanese.

It's match #339, it looks like it just just follows some other matched, etc.....https://olympics.com/tokyo-2020/oly...mpic-schedule-and-results-date=2021-08-07.htm

Match #334 is scheduled for 6:30 AM EST his morning, then #335, then #336, then #337, then #338 and then #339.

Match #340 is scheduled for 7:55 AM EST, so I'll guess #339 is somewhere around 7:30 - 7:45 AM this morning.

No joke man, I've looked all over and pretty much have to guess which red-eye part of the morning I have to wake up to watch these matches. The last couple gold matches have legit required me to wake up around 330am. Hopefully the next Olympics aren't on such a ridiculous time difference.

But thank you for doing the homework, I'll wake up to watch Snyder and then go back to bed for a little bit.

Certainly no shame in the silver. Sadulaev is so good.

Yeah, really wish Snyder could have pulled it off but Sadulaev seems to have his number now. But Snyder is now the only Buckeye with two medals and it was an excellent performance for the US team overall. I think we ended up with 6 medals? Anyways, now we wait for the regular season.
