Rumblings that OSU is trying to get in on Mitch Moore again (Graham wrestler committed to VTech, #2 in the country at 138 on Flo)...likely projects at 141 immediately, maybe 149 down the road. Would love for it to be true, think he could be a stud for us near the middle of the lineup. I think he is solid to VT right now, but I say go full force and try to work our magic because the interest was very real in OSU and I really thought he would land in Columbus. Would love see both Mitch and Rocky in the '18 class.

In terms of our recruiting, Mattox/Jordan/Carr (if he comes on) fill out the 157/165/174-ish spots from the '18 class. In terms of '17, Ethan Smith should be set at 184, Hoffman at 197 and Singletary is a HWT. Heinselman will never eclipse 125, 133 max. Decatur I think ends up at 133/141, but you just sort that out later and they could wrestle back-to-back, much like we can figure out how to wrestle Carr and Mattox back-to-back.

Point is, I think that area in the future lineup could be improved for sure and I would love to see us land Moore.

Competitor news... Looks like the rumors of Nick Soriano transferring from PSU to Rutgers may be true. A few threads out there state that he is just waiting for his official release from PSU. That does hurt them but as we saw last season they put up 140 points without him so...

That would be a huge loss for PSU. They put up 140 without him and they are still outrageously talented, but all the stars had to align to hit that (i.e. Joseph winning with a pin, I don't see him in the finals again next year...then Hall and Nickal winning). Not saying it couldn't happen again, but that would help level the competition between OSU and PSU with Rodriguez also transferring. And if you look at their incoming recruits, Gavin Teasdale won't be in until 2018 and might be a 133, same with Roman Bravo-Young (except he is at least 133, maybe 141), so they don't have anyone I am aware of to fill that spot next year.

Without Suriano, looks like the direct matchup with PSU would be about dead even:

125: Mead(?) or Tomasello vs. ? - Advantage OSU most likely with Mead, obviously with Toms...we'll see what PSU does here if Suriano indeed transfers
133: Tomasello or Pletcher vs. Cortez - Clear advantage OSU, slight advantage if it is Pletcher
141: Hayes/McKenna(?) vs. Carpenter(?) - Gulibon graduated and I don't see any incoming recruits that could fill this spot, so likely a huge advantage here for us
149: McKenna/M. Jordan vs. Retherford - Major advantage PSU in either scenario even as good as we will be there
157: Rider/M. Jordan vs. Nolf - Advantage clearly Nolf but Rider/Jordan should make it closer than Ryan
165: Campbell vs. Joseph - Advantage PSU but Campbell likely keeps it a little closer than Burcher would
174: B. Jordan vs. Hall - As we all know, total toss-up here
184: Martin vs. Nickal - See above, could go either way but usually slight advantage Nickal
197: Moore vs. McCutcheon - Firm advantage Moore
HWT: Snyder vs. Nevills - Easy advantage Snyder

Really early with the transfers, potential McKenna transfer and potential weight changes, but honestly I really feel we are neck and neck with a Suriano-less lineup.

Kollin Moore with a Junior World Freestyle Bronze medal today in Finland. Great Job!

Tech falled his guy to win. Kind of unreal, Kollin has barely even wrestled freestyle from my understanding, yet he is every bit as good at it as folkstyle. So glad we have 3 more years to watch this guy. Might have already said it, but he's my Aaron Craft of wrestling.

Sounds like Ryan Thomas is not going to OSU, we are just filled up at the weight he is looking to go. Hear it is going to be Minnesota but hope we find room later because this kid could be fantastic at the next level.

OHIO STATE WRESTLERS KYLE SNYDER AND LOGAN STIEBER TRAVEL TO PARIS FOR THE 2017 SENIOR WRESTLING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

84181_h.jpg

All wrestling tournaments are fun, but the 2017 Senior World Championships should be especially fun. Buckeyes Logan Stieber and Kyle Snyder punched their tickets a few months ago with victories at the US Team Trials. Both wrestlers have performed very well as of late, but Snyder and particular was dominant.
