Ohio State's recruiting visitor list already filling up with top talent

Urban Meyer and the rest of the Ohio State football staff are wasting no time getting to 2017 and beyond on the recruiting trail.
Ohio State's recruiting status continues to be easily one of the best in the country. The 2017 class is already packed with talent and that trend doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. In fact, Urban Meyer is going beyond 2017 and looking into 2018 as well to ensure that the foundation is built with many of the nation's top prospects already ranked highly for the 2018 class.
Gill aiming for summer visit
It's no secret that the Buckeyes have a major priority in keeping the state of Ohio's top prospects at home for their college years, especially when the prospect is in Ohio State's backyard. Jaelen Gill of Westerville South High School in nearby Westerville, Ohio is easily the top in-state priority in Ohio for the 2018 class. As mentioned several times before, the Westerville product is the current top ranked prospect in the state for his respective class and is receiving attention from many of the nation's top programs including the Buckeyes. To go along with his fifteen offers, Gill is still receiving more interest from more schools everyday that passes.
While Gill was recently on Ohio State's campus for junior days, after speaking with him, his next plans to visit Ohio State are most likely this upcoming summer, though he was clear that nothing was official as of right now. The 6'0, 170-pound prospect is drawing attention from many elite programs, but with him being so close to Ohio State, the Buckeyes already feel that they are in good standing with the relationship they are continuing to build with Gill. Currently, the 247Sports Crystal Ball rankings have a 100 percent prediction rate of him staying home and playing for Ohio State. However, there is still plenty of time to go in his recruitment.
Greene to visit OSU
Ohio State's 2017 wide receiver recruiting class may be one for the ages. With top prospects such as Trevon Grimes and Donovan Peoples-Jones high on the Buckeyes, it's easy to forget some of the other talented names. One name this is certainly familiar with Ohio State that may get lost in the dust is none other than IMG Academy receiver product Emmanuel Greene. Greene is currently ranked as a 4-star prospect and the nation's No. 33 receiver, according to 247Sports. While Greene's name may not be the most active amongst 2017 receiver prospects, he is certainly interested in what the Buckeyes have to offer.
In an article with Scout.com, Greene let it be known that he plans to take a college road trip this coming April. On the list of schools that he will be visiting unofficially was of course Ohio State. The 5'10, 170-pound receiver is currently pegged as Ohio State's to lose, according to the 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions, but there's certainly a long way to go before 2017's National Signing Day.
Mitchell lands OSU offer
Switching gears to the hardwood, the Ohio State basketball team also has a priority of keeping the state's top high school products at home for college. In doing so, Thad Matta and the Buckeye basketball program issued out an offer to local Gahanna Lincoln High School prospect Jordan Mitchell. Mitchell let it be known via his Twitter that the offer was official late Thursday evening. While he is extremely young, being a 2019 prospect, Ohio State wasted no time in making Mitchell a priority for the future. The 6'6 small forward does not currently own a ranking on the 247Sports site, but that is sure to change now that he holds an offer from the Buckeyes.
