Congrats of graduating! U Findlay has really become a great school. Hope the job market has welcomed you.
Livinf and growing up in Lima, especially in the mid-late 80's you know every one from all of the schools. Wether it was Bath, Senior High, LCC, Shawnee, Perry, Elida, Bluffton, Allen East, USV, OG, Grove etc.... It always seemed everyone was at the same parties.
It was great. I made alot of good friends back then and stil see a bunch of those same people around today.
It helped going to parties becasue I had cousins at most of the schools I listed above

#1 Oilers Defeat Wayne State 63-49 in Semi Finals

The University of Findlay's men's basketball will be joining 15 other teams that remain alive in the NCAA Division II Tournament after their 63-49 win over conference foe Wayne State University in the Great Lakes Regional tournament. The Oilers, who improved to 29-3 on the season, will face Ferris State University in the regional finals on Tuesday, March 15th at 7:00 p.m. for the right to participate in the Elite Eight held in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The Bulldogs advanced to the finals after beating Southern Indiana 93-87.

The Oilers, who were battling the Warriors for the fourth time this season, started off sluggish in the first half but got a pickup from one of their senior leaders in Matt Metzger who hit an off balanced, 27 foot three pointer at the buzzer to give the Oilers a 24-23 lead at the break.

Findlay and Wayne State then continued to slug it out in the second half until sophomore guard Dorian Bass ignited a 12-0 run to put the Oilers in control and the Warriors scrambling to get back in the game.

Leading 41-39 with 7:32 to play, Bass connected on a triple to increase the Oilers lead to five. After two free throws by junior guard Dustin Pfeifer, Metzger hit a lay-up and was fouled to give Findlay a nine point lead with 5:57 to play. Metzger made his free throw to increase the lead to ten and two more free throws by Pfeifer with 5:42 to play gave the Oilers a 51-39 lead before the Warriors could get back on the scoreboard.

Findlay closed the final half by connecting on 6-of-8 free throws in the final three minutes of the game to give head coach Ron Niekmap his 431st career win. The win makes him the all-time leader in career wins at The University of Findlay.

Metzger led the Oilers with 20 points and six rebounds. Sophomore center Chris Commons chipped in 14 points while Bass was a huge factor off the bench for the second straight game with ten points.

The Warriors were led by Herb Golliday's 17 points.

I often wonder if any of this is real. Maybe my whole life is a dream and I'll be waking up as a baby just as I'm being born. Maybe this is all a vast conspiracy and everyone in the world but me is a figment of my imagination placed in my mind so that "they" can run their experiments :susp: . Maybe, I am constantly being abducted, going through terrible torture and probing only to have my memory erased and to be placed back at the very moment I was taken.

That's so wild it just blows my mind.

Oilers Magical Season Comes to an End

The University of Findlay's men's basketball season was one that will be remembered for a long time. It's unfortunate that it had to come to an end though as the Oilers fell 75-66 to Lynn University in the quarterfinals of the Elite Eight. It was the Oilers first ever trip to the Elite Eight.

The loss marked the end of four magical careers as Tyson McGlaughlin, Marwan Gaines, Matt Metzger and Adam Sommer played their final game in an Oilers uniform.

Findlay came out of the gate sluggish and allowed Lynn to jump out to an 8-0 lead. Turnovers, poor shooting and a lack of energy allowed the Fighting Knights to take that eight point lead into the break as Findlay found themselves down 35-27 at the break.

During the second half, the Oilers made a run and eventually took the lead for the first time at 46-45 with 12:07 remaining in the game. The lead would be the only time they led in their fourth loss of the season.

Gaines led the Oilers with a dominating performance of 16 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Dustin Pfeifer added 15 points and six assists while sophomore guard Dorian Bass (12) and Metzger (10) also reached double figures.

Pfeifer's six assists give him 171 assists on the season which sets a new school record.

The Fighting Knights were led by Marcus Hayes, who poured in 16 points in the win. Findlay ends their magical season ranked first in the nation and with a school best 30-4 overall record.
Looks like this means you won't have to put up with any more of my updates  .
