There's so much confusion and so many possible root causes that I 100% believe this needs to be tore down and rebuilt.

We can always keep some components of this offense but this needs to be blown up i believe. There's just so many possible issues that it's hard to know where to start and I'm getting tires of them taking plays away that use to work out completely because "teams know how to defend it".

For example, the touch pass use to be a guaranteed staple and it use to get us 5+ everytime but one team had success stopping it so now we don't use it at all. WHY? That was the perfect play to get JT a few easy completions and into ryhtm early.

If used properly ANY play will work and it's amazing how we have eliminated motioning players on the Jet. That kept backside defenders honest, set up the touch pass, set up the pick plays and gave the defense something else to worry about
Watching the first two games it appears Paris is a receiver only and not a Marshall orSamuel or Harvin. Without a running threat at H the offense becomes even less potent.

1. First, let me say that the outcome of the game itself should have very little impact on recruiting. Recruits don't look at the games the same way as fans do, because recruits are not fans (or, at least, they are not only fans). Choosing a college is a business decision for recruits, and the smart ones are not going to let the result of any given game sway their decisions. Now with that being said, what happens after the loss could affect recruits. For example, how do the players and coaches react to the loss? Are they fighting, pointing fingers, throwing each other under the bus? On the other end of the spectrum, are too nonchalant about the loss, or are they only concerned with their personal stats, indicating that they aren't really concerned about the success of the team? A recruit can learn a lot more about a team after a tough loss against a top-5 opponent than a blow-out win over a directional school.
Right after the game I thought of how hard it had to be for a recruit to watch backups on the sideline as JT is failing drive after drive. It doesn't seem like a place top talent wants to go if they will never pull a guy with seniority. We can say that after the game because we know JT did not come back and win the game. Today I was thinking of how much worse it would look if a coach pulled a 5th year QB that broke records at tOSU and was a top Heisman candidate at one point, but the backup did not win the game. Truly a lose-lose scenario.

There is a shitload of hyperbole when talking about 4 or 5 losses this year.

Our offense is bad right now, but Meyer will sacrifice JT's body before he eats 4 losses.

They wanted to make JT a legit QB. A guy who could walk up to line, asses a defense in front of him, and make adjustments and progress through a route tree. I can almost guarantee they bail on this.....

Will JT ensue more punishment? Yes.

Will defenses have to respect our power run game more? Yes.

Will over the top throws open up as a result of JT being more of a downhill threat? Yes.

If there is one fault at the feet of Urban, it was the decision to try and make JT something he just isn't physically capable of being....and that is a pocket QB.

It's kinda funny.......to this day, I still believe Kenny Guiton was probably a better QB than Braxton Miller, simply because the coaches made the gameplan so damn easy to execute when he got the snaps. The took all the pressure off Kenny, and just asked him to distribute with quickness and timing. He was more of a point guard than a QB.

They've done the opposite with JT. They've changed him from a PG to asking him to be LeBron James. He's not LeBron James......don't ask him to put the team on his back. Simplify the game and utilize his best asset (power run) with a dose of play-action.

Anything more than that, and I'd say it's time to develop Haskins/Burrow. The sample size is large enough to know what we've got in Barrett.

Which begs the question of why no McCall....dude is electric with the ball in hia hands
They're not lacking for ball carriers. The rbs need a lot more touches before we ever see McCall and Parris is pretty good with the football.

They need true wideouts. Mack finally made a play and Victor is coming along. Need more of those two. And for JT to realize that scramble drill jump balls to Parris are a terrible idea while 11' high ones to victor are good. I'm pretty sure he was throwing that away on the sideline and Victor effortlessly snagged it (not in bounds).

They kind of half-assed sent someone across the formation on one play.

When NCAA football was still a thing on consoles, I ALWAYS sent someone in motion. Yeah, yeah, not real football, but it at least let me know if the D was in man or zone.

The staff ain't doing JT any favors.

You know what?

Fuck all this noise!

Right now this is eerily similar to 2014. Lost the last two games in 2013 and the second game in 2014 at night on national TV. Everyone was bitching and believed the wheels were coming off. Then the ship got righted and look how that season ended. We probably should have lost the last two games last year. It was a scUM implosion that kept that from happening. This team is as talented as any in the country and despite some mistakes we have an outstanding coaching staff. So get back on board the train Buckeyes.
