Oklahoma Sooners (official thread)

Fifteen years ago correctness idiots ordered everyone to stop calling the Florida-Georgia game 'The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party' (known by fans of both schools forever as the 'Cocktail Party'.)

They asked the media to quit using the term. Told CBS and its broadcasters to not use it. That attempt failed, as the fans did not give a shit what the school administrators said. I heard it called the Cocktail Party on ESPN a few weeks ago. Screw 'em. Boomer Sooner.

Ok boomer.

They're still the fucking Baltimore Bullets, I don't care what the snowflakes say.

SOURCE-Student Government Association President Adran Gibbs, who authored the act mandating a name change for the group, said the words “boomer” and “sooner” are inherently offensive to the Native American community. Gibbs said the act was written to expand on the indigenous land acknowledgement passed earlier this semester.

My questions for the nerds over at SGA are simple: Do you want this to extend to the entire school? I understand why they changed it for their group. If they want it extended to the entire school, here are some more questions:

-What happens to the Sooner Schooner?

-Is Oklahoma no longer known as the Sooners? If so, what's the new name?

-Does the band stop playing Boomer Sooner after every first down?

I'd be down if Boomer Sooner was sort of restricted. Every single college football season, Boomer Sooner is stuck in my head the entire season. It's a great fight song, but I don't need to be signing it as I eat every meal of the day.

Interesting times in Oklahoma.

Two things. We all need to stop making political comments in the football and open forums, whether or not one agrees with a previous poster or not, having these statements in our normal forums leads to too many issues. This stuff should only be posted in the political forum. That goes for all of us.

Secondly, it's the week of The Gaxe. Fuck TTUN!

Just in case you do not remember "The Boz" (see old article, below):

BOSWORTH SAYS SOONERS FREEBASED COCAINE AND USED STEROIDS LIKE ANACIN

Oklahoma University football players freebased cocaine the day of a game and steroid use was commonplace when he was on.
.
.
.
Bosworth said in the book that while he was on scholarship, he lived in a $500-a-month condominium with a big-screen TV and two cars parked outside.
.
.
.
A snowball fight in 1984 outside the athletic dormitory that ended abruptly when Rhymes fired "about 150 rounds out of an Uzi machine gun," wrote Bosworth.
"Somebody hit him with a snowball. He got a little upset," Bosworth wrote. "So right in the middle of the fight, Buster went up to his room, opened his door, and let fly with this Uzi above all their heads. Just a few innocent warning blasts."
.
.
.
Bosworth was suspended from the 1987 Orange Bowl because a drug test detected the presence of a steroid in his system.

Man, the 80s were the best time for college football players getting away with stuff. Heck, the SMU Pony Express guys were getting paid and didn't even get caught. (Even before their school got hammered with the death penalty years later.)

Little known fact. Saddam's sons modeled their rape rooms after Wilkinson Hall.....right down to the Uzis and cocaine.
