Apparently this is going to be the next whirlwind NCAA Investigation.

SI has concluded a 10 month investigation and it will be made public tomorrow morning when the most recent magazine hits the stands.

Some highlights:

The report reveals that OSU went to extreme measures to build a winning program, with an increased willingness to cut corners and bend rules. The transgressions began under former coach Les Miles, who was the head coach in Stillwater from 2001 to ’04 and is now the head coach at LSU, and continued under current head coach Mike Gundy, who was promoted from offensive coordinator in 2005.

• Part 2: Academics (On SI.com Wednesday, 9/11): Widespread academic misconduct, which included tutors and other OSU personnel completing coursework for players, and professors giving passing grades for little or no work, all in the interest of keeping top players eligible.
• Part 3: Drugs (On SI.com Thursday, 9/12): OSU tolerated and at times enabled recreational drug use, primarily through a specious counseling program that allowed some players to continue to use drugs while avoiding penalties. The school’s drug policy was selectively enforced, with some stars going unpunished despite repeated positive tests.

Well, it seems like this story started with Les Miles at Oklahoma State... so these guys better be heading over there next.

Only problem with SEC... players with loose lips end up buried in the swamps of Louisiana...

The guy who put a disciplined player's return to a team vote tolerated drug use, academic misconduct, and boosters flat out handing players performance bonuses? SHOCKING!
The school that Dez Bryant calls his alma mater bent rules? UNREAL!

I think I'm most interested to learn what role T.Boone Pickens has played in all of this.

I know he's a heckuva businessman and huge Cowpoke fundraiser, but I wonder if he played a role in executing any of these payouts.

I would think not. Not because I trust the guy, but rather than giving kids 100 dollar handshakes, he built a stadium... Kind of the same way I feel about Phil Knight at Oregon... Why do something overtly against the rules when you can buy recruits with top not facilities

There's this gem. Pickens seems like a straight forward, no nonsense kind of guy. If the allegations are true, OK State is going back to being whatever it was before he arrived.

This article was shit.

Thayer has absolutely no credibility, and I assume I don't need to get into Dohrmanns jackassery. This piece reeks of a personal vendetta, with lots of players that sure know a hell of a lot about rule-breaking, despite never partaking themselves (Oh, yeah, they were paying players like crazy. I mean, I never took any money though).

Ton's of holes here, and nearly impossible to verify any of this. Stupid.

I especially like that 2 of the people mentioned in the article have since died. Impossible to defend themselves, and the writers can say whatever they want.

The SI article actual says that none of the sources they talked to said Pickens was involved at all. So like BkB, he is giving money the right way... the best way to get recruits is donate money towards facilities and coaches.

If this is credible, I bet Miles somehow avoids a show-cause penalty.

And this wouldn't be a first in Oklahoma State history something like this happened. A recruiting coordinator went down in the late 80's for giving players cash.
