OL Chase Farris (Official Thread)

kid looks like a future monster on the D line

Agreed. With us having gotten two solid DEs, he may have to bulk up and play DT. TE seems to be another possibility. On a separate note, I like the fact that he takes his academics seriously. We want more recruits like Chase being Buckeyes.

New 2011 offers

The other offers I could not be happier about. Farris a player who is relatively new to me. I could not be more impressed with him. He is a natural wide body with the wingspan you want in a left tackle but is quick enough and athletic enough that he will start out at strong side end, probably settles in at the three-technique tackle spot but could end up being a great left tackle. This is how you do it, Buckeye fans. This is move down principle the way it should be done. Get a natural wide body like this kid, ideally with the long arms you want in a left tackle which Farris has, start him out at the highest speed position you believe he can play, and just let him find his most natural spot. None of the kids in the class looks like an LT except Brad Carrico and maybe Farris. This is how you recruit bigs. Great offer by the Buckeyes and the chances he is not a Buckeye are slim to none, and slim is out of town.

Here is film of this outstanding big:

Farris has visits planned to OSU for 3/4 & the 3/20 junior day... He lists OSU as his leader followed with a 3 way tie for 2nd place: Cincy, Michigan St., & W. Virginia... He has no plans to commit to anyone anytime soon... Would like to play at DE or TE in college but has also played some OT & DT in HS...

Boys sectional basketball: Avon Lake gets ugly win over Elyria
Filed by Tim Gebhardt March 4th, 2010

It negated a huge effort by Elyria?s Chase Farris.

Farris controlled the defensive board with 17 rebounds. He finished with 20 rebounds and 16 points but couldn?t buy a free throw, going 2-of-10 at the line.

?Even when the big guy ? Farris ? caught it inside, we had somebody leaning on him or hanging on him,? said Smith. ?He had to work for everything. He?s a man.

?What are you going to do? We tried everything. We went small. We went with our regular lineup. We went big ? I brought our (football) lineman (Andrew Bohan) off the bench. We got it done. That?s all that matters right now.?

?It hurts,? said Farris. ?You play hard the whole time and then the little things ? free throws, missed layups and stuff. It just hurts.?
