I came to that conclusion after looking at his offer list and all those top schools have "cool" status and picked up other OL commits. His new offers have gone out because those teams like OSU, struck out with their Plan A OL. Yes, he may have good feet and athleticism, but he is 2-3yrs away from seeing the field at a school like osu. I agree, hed be a good addition to this class if we dont get Nester. But hes also a kid we can afford to wait on until we hear the outcome of guys higher on our board

Losing Carpenter to scUM was a big blow. Guy is a road grader but it seems he was never high on the good guys for some reason.

Saw that Jones was listed as down to Ohio State and USC.
This kid looks like a bigger Thayer Munford comp. Get him into the strength and conditioning program. I see a RT.

O-Zone is reporting a commitment from Jones, but no BOOM yet....

And O-Zone has deleted the commitment article. Seems like the commitment will happen soon, but for now he's not officially a Buckeye.

Almost never does an o lineman play year 1 at osu and few play as true sophomores. Jordan was very very rare. Petit Frere looks like a long shot to start year 2 as the number 7 player overall. Munford did start year 2 (I think) and was the 3rd lowest rated guy in that class.
It’s a hard position to pick up quickly and we don’t rotate much at all. So I’d never call any player a reach. Most guys start getting real playing time years 3-4-5. So he’s got time to figure it out.

And forced into action by lack of depth at his position, not unlike his final year at OSU.

Just watched his senior film... i must have watched his junior film before because he's much better on his latest film.

He'll need to lose 50 pounds but the tools are there.

A lot of similarities to Orlando Brown Jr. who became a pretty good OT for Oklahoma and was drafted 3rd round.

Oddly that's who I thought of.
  13. And was a much better college player than pro prospect.

Personally I disagree with that... Brown will do fine.

Anyways you can't teach size and if this guy can shed 30-40 pounds he could be pretty good.
  15. My point was that he fell from a 1st round grade (college production) to 3rd round grade due to the combine. My point was that as a fan of a college team, you hope players get drafted highly, but as long as they're good for you that's mostly irrelevant.
