OL Jim Cordle (Official Thread)

Yeah I read that. That's a tough blow because that may make him RS and possibly put him behind a year if the injury is serious enough. Does anyone know what actually happened to him? Hopefully he'll be fine and be able to come back this year because he was supposed to be the heir apparent to Mangold at center and that'll be tough to do with no playing experience going into the 2006 season.

Heres what the Ozone is saying about the guys out:

"Several Buckeyes were not in pads for the afternoon session. Freshman offensive lineman Jim Cordle did not participate in drills this afternoon. Cordle's left foot was in a boot and he was on crutches as he watched practice. Also out of pads were Tim Schafer and Sian Cotton, though neither of those players had visible injuries.

Quarterback Troy Smith was also not in shoulder pads and did not take part in the early quarterback drills in today's second session. He was also wearing sneakers, not football shoes. All the other quarterbacks were wearing shoulder pads and spikes."

Not again guys...No more injuries this year, epecially on our Lines!!!

I dont know whats up with Smith, but hes looking pretty thick and in shape, not like a QB at all!

Smith

Also, for some reason, our LS Drew Norman was throwing the ball around?? Maybe just speculation, but maybe some trickery?

I hope this injury of Cordle's is the minorest of minor issues and that he recuperates quickly. I've been looking forward to seeing what he can do on the field.
With that boot on his leg we can only hope. The Dispatch released a preview of the Defensive Depth chart, positioning Cordle backing up Mangold. Lets just hope he had a minor twist!

In the meantime, they will most likely move senior T Steve Winner to back up Mangold at center like he did all of last year. Schafer, I believe, is the 3rd string behind Winner at T, but he wasn't in pads. Chance for Person/Skinner/Mitchum to hop in the 2 deep!

For now, I'm not worried. If the injury were actually serious enough to have him miss the opener, don't you think that it would've been mentioned in more places that in that article?

I honestly dont think hes done for the season either. However, Im worried that the small injuries now can easily become large, nagging injuries down the road.
