It's one thing to try to put a fence around the state to keep the great players home... but when you've got help from the outside pushing them back in... My GOD! GBYBM. YMSOB!

MAKE IT A TRIFECTA?: Pickerington Central lineman Jacoby Boren has received a scholarship offer and seems set to follow his brothers, Justin and Zach, to Ohio State.(Ed Matthews, Dispatch)

As for Jacoby, he has just one scholarship offer. OSU offered it in late September.

"It was exciting, it caught me totally off-guard," he said. "It's something nice to get off my shoulders, nice to know I have the option to go to college" on scholarship.

Mike describes Jacoby as a cross between Justin and Zach. Jacoby is about 6 feet 2, 270 pounds - not as big as Justin (6-3, 320) but bigger than Zach (6-0, 252).

Where he's the same as his brothers, though, is in his tenacious attitude.

"He's got a motor that never stops; he goes to the whistle," Mike said. "He's a linebacker's worst nightmare; he just keeps going after people."

Jacoby said he feels he has good technique, but he wants to continue to add weight and strength. His goal is to put on 15 to 20 pounds this offseason, partly with the help of OSU's workout program that Justin and Zach have passed on to him.

"I also need to get better at my first step," he said.

And though he continues to listen to pitches from other schools - Cincinnati could offer a scholarship - it sounds as if following in his brothers' footsteps is a foregone conclusion.

"I want to get it over with soon," Jacoby said. "I'll probably be committing soon to Ohio State."

To which Mike says, "Like Justin says, it's a great university; where else would you want to go? And you get a degree from Ohio State and you're set - once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye."

Or in the Boren family's case, once all Wolverines, now about to be all Buckeyes.
