OT Josh Fryar (Official Thread)

FRYAR RECEIVES ALL-AMERICAN JERSEY

Josh Fryar is not the star of the 2020 class. He’s ranked as a three-star offensive lineman out of Beech Grove (Ind.) High School, and he’ll be a developmental prospect who’s been evaluated as someone who won’t see the field until further down the road in his Buckeye career but can be a really good long-term option.

So, with all that being said, the Buckeyes will have a hell of a developmental prospect waiting in the wings over the next year or two.

Fryar, the No. 3-ranked senior in Indiana, received his All-American Bowl jersey on Monday.

Fryar is one of eight 2020 Buckeye commits who have been named to the All-American Bowl roster, and he is one of three offensive line commits, joining Johnson and Luke Wypler.

Pretty impressive for a player whose ranking puts him at No. 17 in this Ohio State class out of 25. Speaks to the depth of this class.

SKULL SESSION: JOSH FRYAR DISCUSSES HIS NEW BUCKEYE FAMILY, TERRY MCLAURIN THINKS CHASE YOUNG IS BETTER THEN EITHER BOSA, AND GUNNAR HOAK IS HAPPY TO BE A BUCKEYE

JOSH FRYAR'S NEW FAMILY.
Incoming Buckeye offensive guard Josh Fryar joined BTN on Wednesday to talk about his decision to spend the next three to five years of his life at Ohio State.

The way he answered, it's much less like Fryar is joining a new football team and much more that he's being adopted into a new family. And I'm sure that's music to Ryan Day's ears.

Also, that quick and blunt "are you wearing makeup?" at the start had me absolutely rolling. This blogger is a huge fan of slobs with personality, and so far, it looks like Fryar is a five-star in that department.

JOSH FRYAR, OL
All six of Ohio State’s offensive line prospects in the class of 2020 have now arrived on campus, with summer enrollees Fryar, James and Toutant joining early enrollees Paris Johnson Jr., Luke Wypler and Trey Leroux in Columbus.

Ranked as three-star recruits, Toutant, Fryar and James each bring a little something different to the table: Toutant is a 6-foot-7 tackle, James is expected to kick inside to guard and Fryar is a versatile lineman who could potentially play either guard or center. Their first year on campus, though, will be a developmental year for all of them – starting with their work in the weight room and continuing on the field with Greg Studrawa once practices begin – as none of them are expected to be on the two-deep right away.

Very surprising but so good to see! That means he is giving himself a shot early to play and as a not 5 star kid by the rankings that's huge for us up front.

Couldn't imagine how proud the kids parents are.

Love seeing these borderline 3-4 star kids get their black stripe removed early.
