OL Kyle Trout (transfer to Cincinnati Bearcats)

One more thing, If you go back to pee wee, Kyle has played every position on the line including tight end and he can snap with either hand. He will go where they need him. He prefers left tackle but is open to helping anywhere he can.

Kyle is a little over 6'6 (same height as Jack Mewhort, they stood side by side) and weighs 294 right now. He was told they consider him a left tackle and enrolling early probably had him on the two deep right away. They said he is raw and needs some work on technique but that they really don't see 300lb kids who can move and change directions like he can.
Doc says he can grow more but how much is open to debate. He wears a size 18 shoe...

He also asked what he can do to help make this the best class in the nation and will try to help anyway he can. He is already making friends with some other great kids.

Fantastic. Watching Kyle's film, I saw some great tools for a potential LT and already standing at 6'6 definitely helps. Jack is a fantastic LT at 6'6 and Kyle has a somewhat similar skillset. Glad to hear Kyle is working on making the 2014 class another great one.

Welcome to the Buckeye family, Kyle!

Holy mackerel! I'm glad that Urban netted you. Some posters will place you on a perch just for being a Buckeye, saying that your commitment jacks up this class to a larger scale, while fans of other teams might be trolling with comments that show them to be bottom feeders.

Some might get hooked and take the bait, and clown around with your name, trying to have a whale of a time like sharks in the water. But we know that Urban didn't take a flyer on you, that you will be a man-of-war for the Buckeyes. If you're able to handle the middle of the line, you could even be a snapper!

We won't hear Joe S(c)had talk about you, but that's because the slippery eels at ESPN would rather flounder around and poke barbs, trying to torpedo Ohio State with red herrings rather than admit any rays of sunshine that might drum up support for the program.

OK, some of those smelt, I did pack them in like sardines, but nothing should char the moment of excitement of Urban reeling in this commitment.

Trying to worm your way out of this?

Just a quick update: Kyle hasn't started taking it easy, in fact quite the opposite. He's hitting the weights very hard and is getting in very good shape. At the same time he's talking with recruits from all over.

I can't wait for this football season to start and we've just finished basketball and have track to get through...

Great to hear. I hope he is talking to other recruits about how nice central Ohio can be all year round and especially around The Ohio State University campus:)

11W Article on Trout.

edit: The part that stood out to me was the following.
“I fully intend on graduating early from high school and enrolling early at Ohio State so I can be ahead of the game,” Trout mentioned. “I grew up dreaming about this chance, but I never knew it could or would be a reality. I’m very excited to be at Ohio State as soon as possible and want to be a part of the program well after my playing days are done.”

Lancaster's Kyle Trout throws shot in the Division I Regional Championship at Pickerington North. Trout won the event with a throw of 55-5.25 and will compete in the State Meet.

PICKERINGTON ? Kyle Trout already had thrown a personal best earlier in the week in discus, and he closed the Division I regional meet Friday with another success.

Trout won the shot put with a throw of 55-feet-5 at Pickerington North to win his second regional title of the week for Lancaster.

?To be a regional champ in the shot and discus is just incredible,? Golden Gale coach Jeff Koksal said. ?It was hard to imagine going in two weeks ago that this would happen, and I just don?t think he?s done.?

Trout?s throw of 177-4 on Wednesday beat his previous best of 159-6. He followed that with his second win and qualified in both events for next week?s state meet at Ohio State?s Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus.

?I still think there?s some more untapped potential there,? Koksal said. ?He seems to respond well to high-pressure situations. He doesn?t get too shook up. He?s kind of happy go lucky, and I think that?s a huge advantage for him.?
