OL Kyle Trout (transfer to Cincinnati Bearcats)

Rapture;2202939; said:
Kyle will visit Michigan State for the Notre Dame game on the 15th. It's likely he will receive an offer from MSU during that trip.

Kyle is starting at defensive end this year along with offensive line. That may give an indication of how much faster he's gotten this off season.

Also he's mostly playing left guard and pulling almost every play. He does play some left tackle as well.

Thanks for the update Rapture...I hope he does well this season.

I'll apologize in advance for the following post and trust that someone will correct me if I cross a line... I know this is an OSU thread and that focusing on other schools isn't the goal here. However, I just thought I'd post a bit from time to time about what's going on to give you a view of how things work.

As you may know, as a junior schools could not contact Kyle directly yet. As of midnight last night they can send mail. Most universities include electronic communication as mail and thus coaches couldn't return emails etc either but certainly couldn't initiate any form of communication. At 12:01 am the recruiting coach from Cincinnati friended Kyle on Facebook, he was the first to friend and send a message last night. It was followed by numerous other coaches including Mike Tressell from Michigan State. At 12:04 he even got an email from the head coach at Pitt asking him if he could get to their opener today.

Kyle himself is doing very well this season so far, hopefully he continues that and improve each week.

Also, Kyle is getting stuff from all over since the first when coaches can send mail etc. los of schools want film, or want him on campus etc. No other official offers yet though.

Kyle Trout looking for Ohio State offer
September, 8, 2012
By Brad Bournival | ESPN.com

Kyle Trout (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster) knows what it means to be an Ohio State Buckeye.

Growing up 45 minutes from The Horseshoe, the 6-foot-5, 254-pound Trout has always dreamed of playing in front of 100,000-plus screaming fans on a Saturday.

So when Ohio State started showing interest, the junior offensive tackle got a little excited.

?I?ve always been a Buckeyes fan, so it would be great to get an offer,? said Trout, who was planning to watch in Ohio State?s game against the University of Central Florida on Saturday.

Trout impressed by OSU behind scenes
September, 9, 2012
By Brad Bournival | ESPN.com

Kyle Trout (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster) watched the Xs and Os of Ohio State?s 31-16 win over Central Florida on Saturday on an unofficial visit. The offensive tackle out of the class of 2014 was up close and personal and came away with an even better understanding of what the Buckeyes are all about.

?I sat on the 40-yard line right behind OSU?s bench,? Trout said. ?On the field, they seemed really intense. Off the field, they would sit almost right in front of me and you could hear and see what all the coaches were saying to them and how they were helping them.

?I liked how even though they were up, they were proactive. They didn?t stop coaching even though they were up. It was more reassurance of how this coaching staff is going to succeed. Still having the intensity to bounce back from last season and really do well, I think that will be awesome.?

Kyle Trout in line for Michigan State offer
September, 16, 2012
By Jared Shanker | ESPN.com

Kyle Trout had a little trouble finding where he was supposed to go on Saturday, but eventually the Lancaster (Ohio) junior offensive tackle made it to Michigan State and it was worth his trouble.

The game did not go as planned for Michigan State in a loss to Notre Dame, but Trout still enjoyed his visit and especially the scene at Spartans Stadium.

?It was extremely loud and energetic. I like how loud stadiums can get,? Trout said. ?I liked how even when the fans weren?t cheering -- which wasn?t very often -- the players were keeping themselves up.?
