OL Michael Brewster (Official Thread)

i really hope that at least adams and brewster make it known publically early in the process so the momentum for '08 can start early, and, if for no other reason, the whiners and chicken littles can be silenced for a while.

Will be interesting...Brewster earlier said that he would not announce until next year's AA game, so we could be waiting on him a while. Despite that, his comments about his relationship with other recruits and coaches at OSU are impossible to overlook and no matter when he announces I think it is obvious where Mike wants to be.

No doubt. Maybe its just me, but it seems like there are some shady things going on in San Antonio that weekend every year.

Brewster is a JT-type recruit...most kids who commit at the AA game by their very nature are not. This is the first time in history I would not have a problem with a kid waiting until then.

But didn't everyone think Martin was a JT-type recruit?

Isn't it a little early to start with this? Yes, I thought Martin was going to be a Buckeye...and yes I think Brewster is going to be a Buckeye. Since Martin committed elsewhere, does that mean that Brewster will to? I don't think so. Brewster has wanted to be a Buckeye since day one and is already buying into the team concept. That is a JT-type recruit. Typically that philosophy has only worked on in-state kids, but Brewster is one kid from OOS that seems to fit the mold. I have gone on record saying that kids who plan to commit at the AA game do not typically fit the JT-recruit mold, but I think if Brewster does wait until then, he is the exception to the rule. Of course, all bets are off if the Block O decides to do a joint announcement, at the AA game or otherwise.

Setting up 2008 Recruiting

2008 is a great year for Offensive Lineman and by only taking E. Blankenship this year sets up a BIG signing year in 2008. We lose three OL in D. Datish, T.J. Downing and T. Schafer. In 08, we lose K. Barton. Lose 4, have only signed 1. Plus all of our OL move up a class. In 2008 season, we will have 5 senior OL. So it wouldn't surprise me if tOSU signs 5 OL in the 2008 class. An OL coming out of high school could not ask for a better situation, a better university, the best Head Coach and Coaching Staff, and the best fans to be a part of.
