OL Michael Brewster (Official Thread)

2008 is a great year for Offensive Lineman and by only taking E. Blankenship this year sets up a BIG signing year in 2008. We lose three OL in D. Datish, T.J. Downing and T. Schafer. In 08, we lose K. Barton. Lose 4, have only signed 1. Plus all of our OL move up a class. In 2008 season, we will have 5 senior OL. So it wouldn't surprise me if tOSU signs 5 OL in the 2008 class. An OL coming out of high school could not ask for a better situation, a better university, the best Head Coach and Coaching Staff, and the best fans to be a part of.

That's the same theory (common sense, I might add) applied to this year's need for DT's. Hopefully, it will work out better for next year's OLs than this year's DTs.

From the Michigan site...Michael is focusing on OSU, Michigan and Florida. He plans to decide by early October and enroll early.

The Michigan people seem to be hoping against hope on Brewster and Adams...while I don't believe in silent verbals anymore, there is no reason to think (after reading this or any other update) that Michael is going anywhere but OSU. I think he will be someone to do a little recruiting for OSU sooner rather than later. :wink2:

Especially "silent" verbals as it pertains to OSU!

I truly hope that he is 100% Buckeye in his heart and does become an effective recruiter for next year's class.

wad, there is a TON of time between now and October for Brewster to be swayed by Urban or others.

I remember at one point, most thought we'd get a plethora of DT's (4 by my count - Barksdale, Still, Brent, and Jeremiah) this year and we will be lucky to get one!

Thanks...I'm new to recruiting. :shake: Take your doom and gloom back to the Scout boards.

No one is counting Brewster as a part of this class. I just know what I have been told my several different people and I feel confident about Brewster. Unlike most of you, I am not going to let this year's recruiting affect how I perceive the info I receive on a particular recruit going forward. Brewster is already recruiting for OSU which leads me to believe that he plans on being a Buckeye.

My take on the article:

I think he could make it public even earlier than October. At first he wanted to do it at the AA, now October, but with the way him and Adams seem to talk up tOSU and I think they may realize that earlier they verbal the more recruiting momentum they might pickup in terms of being able to recruit some other guys here.

With everything that happened this year with silents, does the staff at this point think about pressing for public committments early? I don't really have an opinion on it, and I think pressure could backfire. But they have to be thinking about it.
