This. His highlights are more funny to watch than predictive of how he'll translate to this level. Frankly, I've felt sorry for some of the kids that he's had to go against due to the size and skill difference. Take that raw talent and coach 'em up. It's a very rare player who can walk in at play on the Oline as a freshman. It's even more rare as you move from C to T.

In before the split, but yeah... I honestly thought the post you were responding to was a joke.

Carter was a generational talent. He took passes that Karsatos was trying to throw away and turned them into critical third down conversions (vs BYU in a bowl game for example).

Pace was a once-in-a-lifetime talent. We may never see his like again.

No one would be happier if someone does it, except maybe the man who does it.

It does not besmirch NPF that he is not that guy. He could still be an All-American, 1st round pick, Pro-bowler and not be that guy.

OL Nicholas Petit-Frere

Nicholas Petit-Frere competed for a starting spot last season. Senior tackle Branden Bowen won the right tackle job, and Petit-Frere became the a reliable backup before having to flip and play left tackle against Northwestern for his first career start. When he started at left tackle, Petit-Frere held his own. Now with some game experience to his name, Petit-Frere is finally at a weight Ohio State wanted him to be at this offseason, and he can begin to focus on taking over at right tackle for Bowen, who graduated. Justin Fields can again be a Heisman Trophy candidate at quarterback if he is given time to throw. He had time last season, and now Petit-Frere needs a good offseason to earn the spot protecting Fields for another big season next year.
