OL Nicholas Petit-Frere (1st Team All American, Tennessee Titans)

I keep hearing about this Hermano guy, but I don't see him listed on any recruiting outlets.

From what I saw in the first half of the UAAA game he was getting eaten up by the Anoma kid committed to Bama. He was always a step slower at the snap coming out of his stance and was hooking or chasing the DE on several plays. Still hope the staff gets him tho. Lots of potential.

Typically the OL struggle quite a bit in the all-star games...but yes, he absolutely got eaten alive. No worries though and I absolutely want him if we can get him in this class somehow.

Remember how Taylor Decker looked early in his college career against Khalil Mack. Both of those guys went on to great careers. Anoma and NPF could be similar.

He had 2 tackles in punt coverage and recovered a fumble in the UA game. Not bad. Also won the lineman strength competition and is a top 5 finalist for the Franklin D. Watkins Memorial Trophy Award which looks at GPA, extracurricular activities, etc.

Just more reinforcement for me of a pre-early signing period statement that I'd way rather have him than JC.

I realize he is a pipe dream until he gets on campus but he seems like an Urban kind of recruit. Get him on campus and anything can happen.

If we are lucky enough to land Nicholas, I'll forget ALL about that in-state OT that was looking for all the attention.

For serious though, even when Nicholas was a 4* guy, he was the #1 OT prospect on my board that we had offered (see my early posts in the recruiting tidbits thread)... Nick was/is the best chance to be a sure thing. Reminds me of Tyron Smith (USC, 2008) coming out of HS. Dude is lean, athletic, mean, teachable, & raw. With the right S&C program and coaching, dude is going to be a monster. With Nicholas keeping things close to the vest, there's no telling what he's actually thinking.

IF we're able to land Nicholas though, you'd forget all about that other dude too
