What I've seen and read...I like the combo. Kid has a nasty streak you don't coach. In the Rivals article last week, he talked about whipping on Boren...I like that fire.

He is a wrestler...always a plus. He is lean up top with a solid lower body. That is good.

Folks are looking at this as an OL offer but don't commit him there...he reminds me of Bellamy with a touch of Tim Anderson.

I don't know if he's the same type player, but the description above reminded me of something early in Mr. Larimore's thread:

"Every camp is a showcase for me. I'm showcasing what I've got and from what I've been seeing I'm beating pretty much everybody," the 6-foot-3, 265-pound Larimore said. "That's why it's so stressful. I'm eating up guy after guy, but coaches except IU (and Ball State and Western Michigan) haven't offered (a scholarship). It's so stressful. I don't know what else I can do.

"If you put a guy out there, I'm going to beat him. But why don't they offer me a scholarship?"

Here's to hoping history repeats with a great Buckeye career...

hes an interior guy most likely if on offense? id assume at this point (with fickell) well see a similar defense as weve seen in the past? the offense may or may not be changing in the intermediate term, no? further complicate the issue with the unofficially present "interim" tag and a different potential head coach, no?

i realize this muddies a kids thread, but relevant. but the upside is you get a guy who plays like a warrior, hates to lose, plays with a stick up his well you know, and competes. the kind of thing every coach wants.

Ohio State football: Two local recruits commit to 2012 class
Thursday, July 14, 2011
By Tim May
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Ohio State bounced back from a tough weekend of recruiting news with two local commitments yesterday.

Luke Roberts, a linebacker from Lancaster, and Patrick Elflein, an offensive lineman from Pickerington North, called coach Luke Fickell with the news that they want to be part of the 2012 class.

Elflein, 6 feet 3 and 285 pounds, reacted almost immediately after being offered a scholarship yesterday in the wake of Lakewood St. Edward lineman Kyle Kalis decommitting from OSU and pledging to Michigan last week. That gives Ohio State two offensive linemen in the 2012 class from Pickerington. Elflein, who was also courted by Purdue, Northwestern and Indiana, will be joined by Jacoby Boren of Pickerington Central.

He's got tree trunks and a frame you can build on.....plus he has a nasty disposition and finishes blocks

^^^^this^^^^

my exact thoughts after watching his film. Love this offer. Pick North is 10 minutes from my house and I will be going to at least 1 of his games this year.

I am very excited about this commit. After watching his video I really think we found a talented lineman for either side of the ball. Now if we can just dig up two more I will be happy. Also, as far as I am concerned Fickell can close . :oh:.
