OL Patrick Elflein (National Champion, 2017 PFWA All-Rookie Team, Arizona Cardinals)

Well, we've all said it, we'd rather have a "C" player (abilitywise) who is giving an "A" effort, than the reverse (note Notre Dame turning 5* players into kids that aren't drafted). Besides, training can turn a player into an All-American (see Jenkins, Laurenitis, etc) who were 3*'s. OSU has that history. Heck, see Nebraska, who NEVER makes the top 10 recruiting classes (or Wisconsin), and they turn out dynamite teams.

No, we'll take those kids that want to be Buckeyes. Ohio turns out some great kids, and the OSU coaches will make them better. Not Calibuck's opinion, but a review of past performance.

Almost every class we have a kid who stands out above the rest not because of star ranking or press coverage, but by leadership, attitude, heart, and desire to be a Buckeye. Looks like Patrick is that one for the 2012 class...

Great point and from the looks of it he has that nasty streak I love in olinemen. Gonna be fun to track his progress.

Welcome to Buckeye Nation Patrick!

Pickerington North 38, Watterson 3: Pickerington North?s line dominates
By Steve Blackledge
The Columbus Dispatch Saturday August 27, 2011 5:47 AM
...

Leading the charge was Ohio State-bound two-way lineman Pat Elflein, who recorded two sacks and two additional tackles for loss, and harassed Watterson quarterback Andy Elberson.

?We really didn?t expect it to come this easy,? Elflein said. ?It all starts up front, and we know that?s the strength of this football team.?
