South isn't known for churning out D-1 talent, but that should change over the next couple of years with Reid Fragel and the state's leading receiver, junior James Saros, on their way to becoming blue-chip recruits. Being my hometown, I've had a chance to see Reid play and he has a great frame and surprising athleticism for such a tall player. He has good bloodlines, as his older brother Mark was a lineman with Miami (Ohio) and his dad played at Michigan State and Northern Michigan. He's a superior prospect to his brother. Has been to several summer camps and looked good at the Michigan and Northwestern camps. Also plays DE. Outstanding student.

By A. Trieu. Interview with Fragel's father. They have been to Michigan State, Wisconsin, Michigan, Northwestern, Iowa, and Notre Dame so far, and will continue to visit schools now that the season is over. Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, and USC have all invited the Fragels to games as well. He will be at the AA junior combine.

By A. Trieu. Miami (OH) has offered. He enjoyed his visits to Virginia, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Wisconsin, and Notre Dame, but calls his visit to Iowa his best so far.

any mention of any interest in the Buckeyes?

Word is he is a possible target...more info as it becomes available. Certainly fits the mold of an OSU TE...similar size to Ballard coming out of Middletown.

45, thanks for the thread. Looks like a great target possibly. Not sure what you mean, though with the Middletown reference? I thought Ballard came out of Springboro. Just checking.

I like the height, but wouldnt it be a huge order to ask him to gain 70 some lbs.??

He is up to 6-foot-8 251 lbs. according to his Rivals profile.

EDIT: ChisAto is on it.

EDIT: Updated his profile post.

I think there's some hesistation on both sides (Fragel and UM) though because it appears as if Fragel wants to play TE... I don't think he gets offered to UM at TE though.

Well with Koger and Moore this year and Steve Watson and Martell Webb already in the fold, it looks as if Fragel wants a UM offer it will be as an OL.

From BuckeyeGrove...is hearing from the entire Big 10 (except for Illinois) as well as Tennessee, Virginia and Maryland. Talks about his visit to OSU last week and talks about what type of offense he could see himself fitting into.

Thanx for link, seems to bode well for us. But I'm really more anxious to hear what you think about him, 45.

Kid has good hands for a big guy...and fits the mold of the typical OSU TE. If I were the staff I would want to see him in person at camp. Seems to be a pretty effective blocker, which is something you don't see out of a lot of TEs on their HS highlight reals. Reminds me a bit of Ballard from a size standpoint but his film and skill sets reminds me more of Andy Miller. I can see why some schools are talking OL...he has the frame, much like Barton and Coleman did coming out of HS.

Thanks. Do you think he will get an offer?
