OL Steve Rehring (official thread)

Can you address the issue of red shirts being on guys because of grades? There is speculation that at least one true frosh is ready for the field but is being held out because of class attendance or something related to academics. Can you verify this?
Well that's definately a good policy. Why should you play if you aren't taking class seriously?

yeah thats what I was tought my junior year before I became the fullback. We had 3 steps though coming off the ball....first was a short step to just get going forward the next step was to go in direction of where you wanted to go and finally the final step was the one you drove through with..... While I said some of it is imporant. there's nothing a good ole BLOCKING SLED can't do that technique can do when it comes to getting leverage..... Yeah some of it is important, but I'd think sometimes players get caught up in trying to do the right thing... but you're right about the first step... that is important but I don't think anyone should really have a huge problem with that! haha shit I mean as long as my lineman pushed forward and didn't move backwards I'd let it slide.....

-and...do you think jt and bollman suddenly decided sims is a guard..???
Sorry to bring this post back from page 5, maybe, but Sims is a guard. Atleast with his size that is what he will be playing in the NFL. Who else has the Bucks had to play LT besides Sims, till Steve got PT? Like many have said the OL depth has been a question for a few years. Sims was playing LT because there was no one else.

Also, I wish people would remember that Coach Tress calls the plays, not Bollman

Also another note.. I overread alot of this post. Shane Olivea was a great player because he combined putting someone on their butt with Technique. I talked to Ryan Hamby once about him, and he said he had the best technique and that is what made him good. Grant it I love seeing the OL putting the D on their ass, but without technique the OL would be worse.

Go Bucks, less then 12 hours till kick-off!

Scares the hell out of me anymore when these big guys take a hit like this. Here is hoping he gets past it in good shape.

BTW - The Dispatch confirms that "Sources said he was in a hospital being treated for an undisclosed illness."
