Big fan of this kid, closest comparable I can think of on the team now is probably Doug Worthington...anyone got anyone closer?

With the movement of having a more athletic front, he's a good fit. More of the type of lineman you'd see in the south, a big boy that can scoot. I can see this kid really take off after the summer circuit.

So does he play DL as well?

Akron Lineman Could Become A Big Name This Spring | Ohio State Buckeyes College Football Recruiting Bucknuts.com

When Ohio State held its junior day last weekend, OL/DL Tommy Brown from Akron Firestone High School was in attendance. Brown (6-5, 300) currently holds an offer from Akron and will be a prospect to watch in the coming months.

We just broke down five game films of Tommy Brown for our "college coaches package" and came away very impressed with Brown's football upside. Brown dominates his competition with his great size and strength by blowing defenders off the ball and easily shedding blocks. As Brown attends camps this summer, if he shows these same skills he will turn many heads. I expect that Brown is a prospect that will garner more early offers if he performs well in camps this summer.

In regards to Ohio State and his visit this past weekend, Brown texted me the following: "It just feels like home to me down there. They treat me with so much respect. It was very nice."

Look for Tommy Brown to camp at Ohio State this summer so coaches can check his progress.

Link has video from ScoutingOhio.com as well...

Sounds like they evaluated him on the Defensive Line? Another John Hankins maybe? Already listed at 6'5" 300, that is quite the size for a big Nose Tackle, much like what Hankins will be playing.

That's what it sound like...and let's face it, this kid is a man-child. I am a big fan of OSU taking a couple more space eaters in the 2011 class...would like to see them target a variety of gap/technique DTs.

Agree. I love how he wants to earn it at camp too. We pretty much have our future at DE sewn up, not let's work the middle. Tommy Brown looks like a great start. Kris Harley, Kevin McReynolds (getting lots of early pub, how interested is he in us though?), Kevin Williams (DT from Ohio, already has a Nebraska offer... sign me up), among others I'm sure. I have not heard a ton of names yet, but we NEED some DT's with Larimore/Heyward gone next year, and missing on Floyd this year.

Can't wait to see how Tommy performs during summer camps.

Agreed.

Exciting news that he feels at home at tOSU! Here's hoping for a healthy, productive year for him, both on the field and in the classroom.
