Ohio State is loaded with talent once again this season, but much of it is unproven.

The Buckeyes signed their two highest-rated recruiting classes of the modern era in 2017 and 2018, and with those players entering their second and third seasons respectively, it’s their time to make an impact – in many cases, for the first time.

Here are 10 players who will be stepping into larger roles with the team and seem poised for breakout seasons in 2019.

WYATT DAVIS – OFFENSIVE LINE – REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE
After a redshirt year and a season as the team's first interior lineman off the bench, it's now Wyatt Davis' time to shine as Ohio State's starting right guard.

A five-star prospect out of high school, Davis has shown obvious potential since his arrival on campus in 2017, but he never saw meaningful action until starting guard Demetrius Knox suffered a season-ending leg injury in the final drive of Ohio State's win over Michigan last season.

Davis filled in nicely for Knox in Ohio State's two postseason victories over Northwestern and Washington and looks like a primed for a breakout year in his first season as a starter.

I feel like Wyatt is ready to flat whoop some ass this year. All the size, talent, and nastiness are there. He was one of the most dominant OL I've seen coming out of high school. If he's got the scheme down and is focusing on the finer points of technique, he's going to dominate.

ShowMeBuck You know what? Chicken butt.

I didn’t give Wavy Dub enough credit. I thought Bowen might slid inside and take his spot.

Sounds like him and Josh are young but ready to dominate. I love it.

I’m super excited about this O Line.

sparcboxbuck What happened to my ¤cash?

Kid's too good and has been in the program long enough that it would be virtually impossible to keep him off the field.

Wyatt is one of those kids (and I wanna be careful here) but people around the program say, you just can't keep him off field. A nasty, dirty, grimy blocker.

Sounds good to me. I think Wyatt ends up a 2nd or better round selection in draft.

This thread deserves a bump. Wyatt is flat-out manhandling people this year. Went back through watching the game against Corn and he isn't just getting his blocks, he is making defenders regret coming onto the field. Wyatt is living up to his recruiting ranking and then some. Haven't tracked the rest of the interior OL in the country, but Wyatt has to be right near the top. Keep that effort up big guy.

According to the stats he is clearly our best and most dominate O-Linemen to date.

I was about to type how excited I was that Myers and Davis would be back next year because of how dominant they look, but then I realized they were both RS Sophs, so they could leave. Anyway, hope they stay because they might be the best center/guard tandem in the country next year, at least in run blocking.

All three interior guys are really... they are what most thought they'd be.

A nasty and physical bunch that will move people.
