Orlando +7.5 at Cavs - Game 5

A true 'must-win' for Cleveland.

Oh they'll win. The Cavs are gonna take this to game 7, enter the 4th quarter with a 30 point lead on a homecourt where they have been seemingly invincible all year long...and proceed to lose on a buzzer beating baseline 3-pointer by Hedo Turkoglu in triple overtime. That, my friends, is a prediction that you can take to the bank.

The Cavs aren't losing Game 7. If we get there, you can bank it.

Come on, this is Cleveland. Fatalism is in our nature.

No, Cleveland fan culture is this (outside of the Browns):

Step One: Completely ignore the team and don't go to any games when they suck.

Step Two: Become mildly interested when the teams shows signs of life/new beginning and maybe even go to a game or two for the atmosphere.

Step Three: Become wildly and unrealistically optimistic when the team shows that it has championship potential.

Step Four: Give up and move back to Step One when it looks like the team will just end up disappointing you again.

I say [censored] that mentality. I picked Orlando to win in 6 before the series started. [censored] that prediction. Let's get behind this team and win this thing.

See, I think this belongs as a step between 3 and 4.

As bad as I want to vent and piss and moan about the way this series has gone I won't. Orlando just has a better team overall and it's obvious. The Cavs are a pube away from greatness. They're a really good team. They just need a clutch 3 point shooter. I'm very worried about their chances now but I'm not giving up. Besides, we all know if they're going to lose it'll be in game 7 after blowing a 50 point first half lead.

The more I think about it, the better I feel about the Cavs chances. 3 of the 4 games have gone down to the wire. Unfortunately the Cavs came out on the short end in 2 of them, but think about it...this series is so close to being a 3-1 Cavs lead. Yes Orlando has a ton of mismatches, yes the Cavs supporting cast has disappeared, but we've still got LeBron James which means we've at least got a puncher's chance in every game. Maybe, just maybe Cleveland can pull this one out of the fire and give us all something to celebrate.

Cavs have to win and Andy and Ben need to make it their goal to get under Dwight's skin. One more T and he misses game 6. I just wish that Mike Brown would realize that they matchup better with Lebron at the 4. He has to be the worst coach in the league with matchups. Also just because he plays Wally and Boobie doesn't mean Pavs and Joe Smith can't play. Two of Mo, Delonte, and Boobie need to be in the game at all times. When Lebron is playing Wally or Pavs need to be out there with him and one of the bigs need to be in the game. When Lebron sits Joe Smith and another big should be in. Hopefully Mike figures it out before it's too late.
