OSU Football All time winningest decades

The beer has let me see into the future!??! YAY!!! It took a lot of sweat, hard work, and a liver transplant, but I've finally become one with my beer.

There is no spoon...

Oh, and as far as that future thing goes.... we're going to enjoy the NC game this year. I'll leave it at that... :wink2:

That's great stuff, Jax. I'm shocked that Michigan and Ohio State share the Big 10 win % for the decade so far. I would have thought we'd be up big on them for the decade, but I guess they started off real well while we struggled. But, after 2001, I'd think we're up 5 or 6 games at least.

Going strictly by my beer-infested memory:

Number of Big 10 losses
2002: Bucks 0, UM 2
2003: Bucks 2, UM 1
2004: Bucks 4, UM 1 (?)
2005: Bucks 1, UM 3
2006: Bucks 0, UM 1
2007: Bucks 1, UM 2 (?)

This gives OSU 8 and Michigan 10. Damn. Never mind my 5 or 6 estimate. Time for another beer.

B10 losses by year
2000: OSU 3 scUM 2
2001: OSU 3 scUM 2
2002: OSU 0 scUM 2
2003: OSU 2 scUM 1
2004: OSU 4 scUM 1
2005: OSU 1 scUM 3
2006: OSU 0 scUM 1
2007: OSU 1 scUM 2

Both have an identical 50-14 record so far this decade. 29% of our loss total came in 1 year, 2004.

I'm pretty confident we will seperate from them the next 2 years. BTW #3 is Iowa with 26 losses so we are in pretty good shape to win the decade.

WOW!!! My alcohol soaked brain actually got both teams right from 2002 on. I knew I'd peg the Bucks, of course, but Michigan was a semi-guess.
:banger:

Anyways, the other amazing thing is Iowa is #3 with 26 losses??? That means their record is a pathetic 38-26, which is good enough for third? I would have guessed Wisky or PSU was up there higher. Either way, we're obviously still in the midst of the big 2 and little 9. Seems like each year a third or fourth team pushes for respect, but over an entire decade, the story remains the same.

Look at the decade by decade win % numbers, its never been anything else.

Those #3 teams make a push but its usually for about one class or so, they can never sustain it. Something for the Fighting Zookers to keep in mind.

College football's winningest programs since 2000

2. OHIO STATE BUCKEYES (217-43; WINNING PERCENTAGE OF 83.4)

No Urban Meyer, no problem for the Buckeyes who went 13-1 this season and were a late stop away from playing for a national championship. Coach Ryan Day was flawless in his first campaign, leading an unbeaten regular season and two Heisman finalists into the College Football Playoff. Meyer went an incredible 82–9 in Columbus and only lost four times against Big Ten opponents in 58 tries, a jaw-dropping statistic that Day will try and match — and surpass. Thanks to continued recruiting dominance and the product on the field matching the success off of it, the future is bright at one of the nation's bluebloods.
