Don't know if there are any fans out there, but Buckeye Hockey is one of the great bargains around. Even more so the week of the Illinois game when you can be admitted free with your football ticket stub.

I was at the BG game last week and they are skating pretty well for this early in the season.

Just an FYI.

The games that I have seen, the Buckeyes have skated very well, the passing has been very good and they have managed to get off a lot of shots - they just can't put the puck in the net on a regular basis.

On the defensive side, the goaltending has been less than spectacular (to be kind) and they have had short spurts where they completely breakdown which leads to easy scoring chances. That has killed them. Overall, they have done a very good job in limiting the opposition's shots on goal, they just need to cut down on the mental lapses.

Once they fix the defenses lapses and Caruso starts playing like he's capable (the shots will start finding the holes on the offensive end - it's inevitable), the team will be quite formidable.

As Ou8ch stated, OSU hockey is a great bargain. I recently took my girlfriend and daughter to a game. Neither had ever been to or watched hockey, but they had a great time and are looking forward to going to many more.

I have no clue how you got swept...

I didn't see either game so I can't tell you. I know that WMU was 0-2-0 going into the games with losses to Robert Morris University (a school that lost to a club team) and Niagra.

It looks like you had a 4-1 lead in the second game and couldn't hold on. I'm sure you'll bounce back but WMU is probably the last place team in the CCHA and this will be a major blow for your chances at the CCHA regular season title.

In the new polls Michigan fell to No. 3, MSU climbed to No. 8, OSU fell to No. 13/14, and NMU stayed put at No. 14/13.

Flyers sign defenseman who played at Ohio St.

BY THE INQUIRER STAFF

<!-- begin body-content --> The Flyers yesterday announced the signing of Nate Guenin, a free-agent defenseman who played for Ohio State last season.
Guenin, 23, signed a two-year contract. Terms were not disclosed. He had 11 assists and 87 penalty minutes in 39 games for the Buckeyes as the team's senior captain.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound defenseman led Ohio State in penalty minutes for four straight seasons.
"Nate is a big, rugged defenseman with a righthanded shot," said Paul Holmgren, the Flyers' assistant general manager. "We look for him to come into our system and hopefully develop into an NHL player."
Guenin is a native of Sewickley, Pa.

Men's Hockey: Head Coach John Markell has announced the captains for the '06-'07 men's hockey team. Senior defenseman Sean Collins has been voted team captain by his teammates. Alternate captains will be Mathieu Beaudoin and Matt McIlvane.
"It's a huge honor to be named captain of this team," Collins said. "It means a lot to me my teammates would vote me into this position."

Does anyone know why the backup goalie(Ian Keserich) that would have started this year transfered and where he transfered to? Now we have to rely on true freshmen. Not good.
unless your freshman is joe plamer of the blackhawks. yes he was a fourth rounder, but central scouting had him #4 netminder in the draft. hes a great athlete and the only question is he tends to swim, something many young netminder have a habit of doing. athletically though he has nhl potential. the reality is he probably projects as a league average starter. (somewhere between the 12th and 20th best goalie)
