OSU Men's Basketball Recruiting/Projections/General Discussions

Quite a few Pittsburgh players are asking for their release due to the Stallings firing.. Besides the PG mentioned above, I was wondering if there were any other guys on the Pittsburgh roster that might be beneficial to Ohio State.. I thought there was a new rule that if a coach was fired players could transfer and be immediately eligible or is that something that is on the back burner of the esteem NCAA.

new transfer rules will be voted on in june (provided that there is a prior proposal). also, the pitt transfer mentioned is not a point guard but a shooting guard. he's more or less a slightly taller kam williams who would sit next season. not too dissimilar from washington and ahrens, though i think the former is more of a combo guard and the latter is more of a short(er) small forward.

as a caveat to that final statement, it has been reported that OSU had been in contact with scoring wing Ryan Taylor who will grad transfer from Evansville. he is a guy who can put up a LOT of points and not just because he is a high usage player, he's actually pretty effective and scores in a variety of ways and from anywhere on the court (and has decent size at 6'5-6'6). he is already being hotly pursued by a ton of high major programs, and for good reason, I do think he is the caliber of grad transfer that could still make an impact at the high major level. I think there will be very few other grad transfer wings (maybe zero) this off-season as good at scoring as him. if we can get him or someone comparable, i.e. one of the very top grad transfers from a scoring perspective, then it could help a lot next season.
I was wondering if the guys who know quite a bit about basketball recruiting have heard of this possible transfer from Evansville.
