OSU Men's Basketball Recruiting/Projections/General Discussions

I believe he had some injuries last season and that could have played a role. Believe they were leg injuries and that would certainly hurt the shooting.
Yes, there seems to be some rumors that support that he may have been slowed by injury somewhat last season.

Overall it looks like his role may have changed from his first year at Wake to last year. From what I have seen, he looks like he excels at the catch and shoot 3, maybe not quite as strong dribbling into 3s. If he was not getting to play to his strengths as much, perhaps that is another reason why his numbers were different. I'm sure if he comes to OSU, Coach Holt will put him in the situations where he is at his best.

Ultimately, I am thinking he would potentially be more of a replacement for Kam Williams than anyone else.

Woods visiting with Mack at Louisville now.

Sucks because after the Norton thing getting called off I thought maybe we had a verbal from Woods. Apparently that's not the case and Woods is actively entertaining other suitors.

I wonder if we called the Norton visit off or if he did before he committed to.Drake. Not feeling very good about Woods leaving without a commitment and Coleman making visits to St. Louis and Texas and no word about a Ohio State visit. It would be really bad if we struck out on both Woods and Coleman. The team would not look very good going into next season without some back court help besides the incoming frosh.

Reports are that Keyshawn Woods is being visited by Louisville coaches today. Will be telling if he sets up a visit there - let's hope he doesn't feel a need to visit them.

I honestly wouldn't pick Louisville if I were a grad transfer for next year, considering the serious risk of being on a team that has a postseason ban. But I'm sure Chris will find other options if Key picks another program.

Yet somehow with Holtman I just feel like we'll be alright

I don't know if I'd go that far. But obviously we're not some clear favorite or anything. If it is a case of Woods moving on from us, I have to question how our staff read his visit so wrong that sources would report that OSU was going all-in on Woods and Coleman as far as grad transfers go only to have Woods, in the same week, stop considering us.

virtually no interest from taylor.
virtually no interest from cremo.
virtually no interest from mooney.
woods visited but decided to take other visits afterward.
norton's visit canceled.
coleman possibly no longer a target.

this is all very odd and, as of right now, this does not at all look good. get through the weekend without woods committing elsewhere and perhaps that's the guy. who knows.

It is odd that OSU has seemingly kicked the tires on just about every grad transfer guard out there and they have gotten just one total visit - and no commits yet - from grad transfers. Oklahoma for instance gets two grad transfer guards who may play the same position to both commit while OSU has gotten a total of one visit (and no commitments) from all grad transfers.

I still have a little hope that they can get Key, but it's not looking good. Why does he need to visit UVA if he really wanted to come to OSU? He has probably already played in a game in Charlottesville. I'm thinking he is more likely to go there than OSU.
