  • Man, after Krenzel threw that pick for a TD, I was sure that it was going to be one of the days in Crappy Valley again. I'm so proud of how we stayed tough and kept their offense out of the end zone for the final 3 1/2 quarters. How about Scott McMullen and the way he played like a real veteran? I don't know about you all, but I was $h!tting bricks on that 60-yard FG attempt. I hope Krenzel and Ross are healthy for next week (especially Ross...no offense to Krenzel). Man, as you can tell by the flow of this post, I'm still a bit dizzy from that finish!

Certainly a tough game to watch. Christ, I feel like I played!!!! I thought that we scored with too much time on the clock and I was just so afraid of how PSU was moving the ball. Turns out we pull out a tough one in the Valley.

McMullen did not play that much better than CK in my opinion, a lot of his passes were off the mark, and he through a lot of passes that should have been picked off.

We got very lucky against Penn State, McMullen may be our QB the rest of the way, but if he is, he needs to make some better decessions with the ball.

I still feel that we are much better off with CK in the game unless he is hurt.

I agree with the 2 previous posts. I still like CK if he's 100%, but if not -there doesnt seem much of a difference between the two. That being said if both are healthy, I see nothing wrong (in fact it would probably be helpful) for Scottie Mc to get a couple series every game.

Mili, I could have built a house whit what was in my pants last night. I called a buddy in Phenoix and he told me that he could hear my nerviousness all the way out there.
The score was a little too early but I would have rather had it then than waiting to waste time and not get it at all. McMullen played a HELL-ofva game. I wonder how many people on the other board are calling for him to start next week. It seems like the NFL you need 2 good QB's to get it done for the season. I am wondering what happened with the D on 3rd and long? All night we were giving it up which is uncharcteristic of us. I am most happy that the valley is not. Lets get ready to strap it up for next week because it is going to be a tough one.
THEY WILL REMEMBER WHAT YOU DO IN NOVEMBER.

That was the most entertaining game of the year so far, I thought. I really like JoePa, and I love to see how much importance he puts into this game - he really is an icon, and I tell you this: his recruiting efforts may have come into question over the past few years, but he still calls a helluva game. He might be the best in the Nation at that.

As for the game itself, I have never and will never again sweat a 60 yard FG attempt, but I was for sure yesterday. That kid has a cannon for a leg.

I also think that we should sit CK down for the next game or two. We have to ride the hot hand, and I don't think Captain Craig ever fully recovered from the NCST game.

Can you clarify which passes you were talking about?

To me, he looked awesome threading in the quick slants. He has a super-fast release and he has a lot of zip on the ball.

The only pass he threw that made me grimmace was the endzone pass to Santonio Holmes that he threw on the run. Kind of looked like he forced that one a bit.

But his deep balls were sweet, his quick passes were hitting receivers right in the numbers. I was really impressed with McMullen's passing Saturday.

I was at the game. Can't express the emotions I went through. The PSU crowd was awesome and you can imagine what it was like wearing scarlet and gray and cheering for the Bucks when they were down 10.

I was high up on the opposite end of the field from the final FG and it looked good from there. Initially we saw the PSU players run onto the field celebrating. It was actually several seconds before the group I was with realized they were not going to put three points on the board.

I am getting too old for this.

    Visit To Happy Valley

I made my first trip to follow the Buckeyes to a Big Ten road game this past weekend. I have always liked PSU, but could never understand how they recruitied kids to go to school in the middle of nowhere.

    Now I understand.

I think the best way to describe it is that it is like OSU, but without Columbus. And in this case that is a good thing. There is not much there except the campus but it is large enough to be self sustaining.

The stadium and crowd were much like OSU as well - except they were a bit louder (especially for a 2-7 team). I wandered the campus for 2 hours before the game and not a single negative word was uttered towards myself or any other OSU fan within earshot. Might have been different afterwards if the score had gone the other way.

The area is a pain to get in and out of, but beyond that I would highly recommend this as a prime road trip.
