Bucks win 75-65! I can't wait until next year. Foster looked real good tonight, he could be a top Big 10 guard next year. We are going to have a solid starting lineup with lots of depth on the bench. I will be very dissapointed if these team isn't playing in March.

PG: Butler or Mayes
SG: Foster
SF: Sullinger
SF: Harris or Sylvester
C: Dials

Bench: Mayes/Butler, Harris/Sylvester, Lewis, Bell, Terwigler (sp?)

IMO best game they have played since Iowa. Great effort throughout - continued right where they left off the last 5 minutes vs NU.

Even though Purdue took him out of the 'O' I thought Dials played with tremendous heart tonight.

Foster continues to impress and one of Butler's better games. Syl just keeps playing hard - he is the poster child for the way I like to see a team play BBall.

What can you say about Marinchak? He works as hard as anyone on the team but the good Lord just didn't give him the tools. Landry just ate him up every time he came off the bench - but I still love him.

Biggest disappointment was the rebounding. Last I saw it was someting like 39-25 Purdue.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe Harris had an assignment to bulk up during the off season and didn't get it done. He is really disappearing against physical teams. I like to think the problem is correctable if he hits the weights during the off season - but he is going to have to step up next year for this team to be a serious contender.

Correction - rebounding was my second biggest disappointement. I was really looking forward to seeing the Gene Keady scowl one more time. Bummer he wasn't there.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Ohio State ruined Matt Painter's unscheduled debut as Purdue's head coach.

With Gene Keady back home fighting the flu, Painter took over and was tagged with a 75-65 loss on Wednesday night.

Je'Kel Foster's 15 points led five players in double figures for the Buckeyes (15-7, 4-4 Big Ten), winners of three in a row.

Carl Landry scored 23 points, David Teague 14 and Brandon McKnight 12 for Purdue (5-14, 1-7), which hasn't won in Columbus in seven years.

The Boilermakers, who had lost seven in a row before beating Michigan 84-55 on Sunday, outrebounded Ohio State 43-28 but had 20 turnovers and were outscored 21-5 at the line.

Keady missed the Boilermakers' practice on Tuesday and told Painter _ scheduled to be his successor next year _ to take over while he tried to recover at home.

It was the first time Keady has missed a game in his 830 starts as a college head coach spanning 27 years and stops at Purdue and Western Kentucky.

J.J. Sullinger scored 13 points _ hitting all eight of his free throws _ while Matt Sylvester had 12 points, Tony Stockman had 11 and Terence Dials also had 11 points to go with 11 rebounds for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State led 33-30 after a give-and-take first half in which there were four ties and 13 lead changes.

The Buckeyes scored the final four points of the half _ taking the lead for good on Stockman's 3-pointer _ and then reeled off 11 of the first 13 points of the second half to go up 44-32. Four players each hit a 3 during the 15-2 run.

The Boilermakers drew as close as 44-37 but managed just one field goal over the next 5 minutes to fall behind 56-39. They never got closer than nine points again.

Ohio State had five fewer field goals than Purdue, but hit 10-of-24 3-pointers, 21-of-30 free throws and matched their season low with seven turnovers.

Ohio State had intended to present Keady, who was taking a team up against Ohio State for the 45th time, with passes to the annual Memorial Tournament PGA event in nearby Dublin, a Muirfield Village Golf Club hat and 12 dozen golf balls.

Painter was selected to replace Keady after this, his 25th year at Purdue. A former Boilermakers player, Painter was a head coach a year ago at Southern Illinois and is using this season to ease the transition.

Great effort

“This was another good team win for us. We got everybody involved and everybody brought something to the table for us.”

Je’Kel Foster led Ohio State (15-7, 4-4) with 15 points and four assists. He was 4 of 8 from behind the three-point arc.

Four other OSU players reached double figures in scoring. J.J. Sullinger contributed 13 points. Matt Sylvester added 12 points and four assists. Tony Stockman added 11 points. Terence Dials had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
A good win for tOSU, nice balance.

The Boilers committed 20 turnovers – 11 on OSU steals.
nice to see them get after it on the defensive end.

* The Buckeyes host Michigan Saturday (12:17 p.m., ESPN-Plus regional syndication). The Wolverines stood at 12-10 overall and 3-5 in Big Ten play following Wednesday’s 71-54 home loss to Minnesota.

This is a great opportunity for this team to get rolling, SCUM is struggling right now.
