A letter more info on Sheriron

Ohio State's Tom Herman to watch dual-threat California QB Sheriron Jones Jr. throw on Thursday: Buckeyes recruiting
"COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sheriron Jones never thought his recruitment would expand past programs from the Pac-12, but the dual-threat quarterback of Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde could be on the verge seeing his recruitment explode.

Jones recently picked up scholarship offer No. 7 from Florida, and he's expecting big company at his high school on Thursday.

Ohio State offensive coordinator Tom Herman is coming to watch him throw, and if Herman likes what he sees, a Buckeyes offer could follow.

Jones recruitment has officially gone national.

"I never thought it would be like this," Jones told Cleveland.com in a phone interview Monday evening. "It's incredible that a big-time program like Ohio State is coming all the way here to watch me workout. I'm really excited."

A little more on Waller
Battling for an offer? California QB Travis Waller will also throw for Ohio State's Tom Herman on Thursday: Buckeyes recruiting

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Tom Herman is going to be a busy man Thursday.

He'll be trying to find Ohio State a quarterback from California.

Not only is the Buckeyes' offensive coordinator scheduled to watch Sheriron Jones Jr. of Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde, Herman will also drop in on three-star quarterback Travis Waller of Anaheim (Calif.) Servite.

Neither of them have an offer from the Buckeyes.

Both hope that'll change Thursday.

"It's really exciting because I never really imagined Ohio State would come out to see me because I am pretty sure they don't usually set out to see Southern California quarterbacks," Waller told Cleveland.com in a phone interview. "I just want to make sure I stay focused and have a good day."

Would love to see Waller get an offer. Jones is starting to blow up too. It would be cool to get a SoCal QB...we have not got one from Cali since I have followed recruiting (Grant Schwartz possibly but that was always as an athlete).

Austin Moherman (1997) and Jason Frank (1988) are the only two I can think of from California, off the top of my head. Coincidentally, Frank attended Travis Waller's high school.
Ohio State signed two California QB's in 1997, Austin Moherman and David Priestly.

Wasn't Jim Karsatos from California?
Diggs and Rambo
Let's not forget Michael Wiley, JaJa Riley, Ryan Williams, Mark Johnson, and Grant Schwartz. EDIT: Tyrone Morrison, an LB from San Diego.

I'm sure that there have been others.

Ohio State has never had a great presence in California.
